Walkway from SSR to DTD?

Hello: I was wondering where the walkway from SSR to DTD is? A map or picture with it's location would even be better? Thanks

You can just follow the walkway along the lake in the Congress Park area of the resort and it will lead to the pathway. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to Downtown Disney Marketplace.

Here is a map- the walkway is in the upper right- denoted as #12.

You can also get to DD West Side near Cirque by walking past the boat dock, across the golf bridge (careful, as it's shared with golf carts) and around the DD parking lot towards Cirque and HoB. That would be about 10-15 minutes from Congress Park.

I made this up for a previous posting.

The two paths from SSR are shown from the quiet pool area. The violet path leads to the Marketplace and the yellow path leads to the Westside.

The red path is the one that comes up from OKW and goes to the Westside.

I wasn't aware of that red path. Is it a dedicated walkway? How long has it been there?

We are planning our first trip to SSR this summer. I was thinking that if we want to go to another resort for dinner we could walk to DD and take a bus from there. We are fine with doing lots of walking. Is that a good idea or is there a better way using Disney transport or should we really, really rent a car? I have also read that the bus makes lots of stops within DD. So where does the bus enter and leave from? Maybe we could walk to the depart-DD stop when we want to go somewhere else and get off at the arrive-DD when returning? Thanks for any input.

The red path has been there at least 5 years and is a hardscaped walkway with lights. However, the path has signs stating that it closes after dark. I've walked it after a night at DTD and had to move out of the way of maintenance vehicles travelling to OKW.

We walked to DTD and got on a bus to go to another resort. Very convienent. It's really not a far walk at all. 5 minutes from Congress Park. Maybe 7-8 from the Springs. Probably a minute more from the Paddocks.

That path to the Marketplace takes you right by the bus stops for the Marketplace. We found that the most convienent way to get to other resorts.

If you can, I would rent a car. We've always enjoyed eating dinner at the different resorts and taking a look around. Used to do it taking the buses. Depending on the timing of when you get to the bus stop, it can take an hour to walk then take the bus (you may miss a bus that just left and have to wait for the next). We now rent a car and it is great, especially when you are tired at night...you can just drive back to your resort instead of waiting for a bus, then walking from DD to SSR.

We did this quite a bit last summer during our first stay at SSR. We found it very convenient to resort hop using the DD bus stop. It's one of the things that sold us on SSR (enough to add on points there). We were at the Springs and the walk from there was very easy, though Congress Park is closer.

It has been there since OKW opened in 1991. There used to be a Fitness Trail included with a number of exercise stops along the way, but those were removed about 6 years ago.

It is not lighted from the Treehouse bridge to OKW, but is paved (blacktop) the entire way.

I walked to or from DTD several times in my recent stay. It was about 10 minutes from my building (Paddocks building next to the Congress Park bus stop). No problems with the walk. The DTD resort buses made it easy to get back to SSR when "hopping" to another resort.

Another option would be to take a taxi. When we were at the World last September I was running late and didn't want to be stressed out  for my Spa appointment at SSR. So instead of using the buses I hopped in a taxi and 20 minutes later with pouring rain I was at SSR. In total with tip it was right at $20.
