Walkway/Bridge to Epcot?

I heard that there is a walkway or bridge planned from OKW/SSR Bonnet Creek resorts to Epcot. Is that true?

I also heard that it may be under construction now.

The walk is not too far....the obstacle will be crossing the highway...right?

It isn't far, but it brings you back through staging areas Disney is unlikely to have you stroll through. I doubt this would happen. Disney tends to have their walks a little more landscaped and magical than "a walk over a highway and then through Epcot backstage" would be.

Highly unlikely. It's probably only 1/4 mile from the edge of OKW (further for SSR), but even a walkway that long would not be cheap. And as mentioned it would cross the highway, go through the Epcot CM's parking lot, and across the Epcot back stage areas, meeting Epcot somewhere on the East side. This would require a new gated entrance that would have to be staffed, just for those 'very few' who would even use the walkway.

As for Bonnet Creek, that is not a DVC resort (not even a Disney resort), so there's no reason Disney would build a walkway from there.

And it would be very costly...From OKW you would have to cross a major roadway footbridge, then cross the parking lot to the main entrance. I just don't see WDW adding a new entry gate to EPCOT through the backstage area just for OKW and SSR, which would still be expensive but less distance than to the main entry.

The only way I see this happening were if it were part of a larger project, including some sort of tracked transit system (like a peoplemover or automated rail) connecting OKW, SSR, DtD, TL and EPCOT. However, this then would be like opening the DtD parking lot for theme ark acces to off site visitors, more trouble than such a project would be worth.

sorry this is not happening. have you been talking to Fairfield sales people.... they aren't know for their honest.

if Disney decided to connect anything it will be AK to Studios or Epcot. that will happen first. Disney has to do what is best for them. having all their parks links together without buses is best for Disney first.

Disney will never connect DD to any of their parks or resorts. they have enough problems with off siters and locals parking here in the first place.
