So my husband and I are going on our very first trip without the kids to celebrate our anniversary. I typically plan every detail of our trips so they go smooth and the family really enjoys it that way. This time around I really didnt plan too much ahead of time and now i'm starting to regret it. My husband and I are huge breakfast people and if i recall every ADR we have ever shown up for in the morning (first of the day) I feel like no one else is there yet. Does anyone have experience first hand with showing up first thing in the morning and getting right in as a walk in?

We had no trouble getting a walk-up breakfast at Captain's Grille or Kouzzina in April. I would think at most of the resort restaurants, your chances would be good, especially early. (Except character meals of course).

It also doesn't hurt to make a last-minute ADR, especially if you have the app on your phone. Several times at dinner, the app was still showing available ADRs, but they were turning away walk-ups.

I think you'd have pretty good luck, except at the in-theme park locations. Those might still be pretty full (especially at MK).

The only other time when I've seen the walk-up line be very long is at an isolated resort (e.g., AKL) when the weather was awful. Boma was packed because people didn't want to go out in the pouring rain and opted to eat at the resort.

That's what I'm afraid of! We really want tusker house but the restaurant will have been open an hour to those with ADRs prior to park open.

Tusker House is usually pretty tough to get into. I'd expect to wait a while. If you get in at all.

If you know you want to eat at Tusker House it would be better to make a reservation. In-park restaurants with character dining tend to be fully booked and getting a walk up is probably going to be difficult.

I totally agree!! But there are no ADRs left for September!! I've been creeping the cancelled boards and on the site refreshing daily, so I was considering just saying forget it and pressing my luck by walking in.

I would make a few ADRs that don't require deposit. Then you can cancel them if you don't feel like going that day and not have to worry about losing money. I never go to WDW without ADRs. I have seen people turned away way too many times to risk it.

Keep trying multiple times online at different times every day! If you're flexible about the day and are willing to eat later rather than the first seating of the day you'll have more possibilities. It can feel discouraging, but you never know when someone will cancel. TH requires a credit card guarantee so people will cancel when their plans change because they don't want to pay the no show penalty. You can continue checking even after you arrive at DW.

Ill keep trying I was just getting bummed out and didn't want to overly pressure myself to have to get it to have a perfect time!
