Hotel Shuttle Drop-Off Area or Pedestrian Entrance? I'm familiar with the shuttle drop-off area, is it ok to enter this way when not using a shuttle/taxi service?

I'm confused. You're walking and are you asking where to enter? The Hotel shuttle drop off circle is right next to the pedestrian entrance.

Am I missing something? :confused3

Where are you staying? I think that's the first thing we need to know to answer your question well.

Desert Inn & Suites ~ so it's all one big entrance? I'm used to taking ART, it sounds like when walking you use the same entrace as shuttle users, that makes sense.

Yes, you will basically step out your hotel and the cross-walk across Harbor is right there. You will enter the same way all the shuttles do and will be among many other pedestrians doing the same thing.

...there won't be "many other pedestrians" if you stroll over as early as some of us do. :rolleyes1

:rotfl:

Along these same lines, if I am shuttled to DL from my motel several miles away, where should they drop me off?
If I arrive before the opening, could I get dropped of at the DLH and walk through it to get to the entrance (and have a look at the hotel along the way)?

You could do that, if you really want a look at the DLH. However, the walk will be much longer to the Esplanade (through DTD) if you go that route. It's a pretty walk and can be nice if you are there very early in the am.

If you have them drop you off at the shuttle area, you will have about a 2 min walk to the security tents at the Esplanade.

Thanks for your suggestion. If, and that's a big "if", I get ready very early, and arrive early enough to do so, I am going to scout out the hotel for a future stay. Otherwise, I will have the shuttle drop me off where you suggested.

I'm in the process of planning my "ride" to DLR from my
motel, and am tossed between the DL Express bus from LAX or having a private shuttle service pick-up..
If I do the airport bus, it's cheaper, and leaves earlier in the morning...that's good so that I have time to buy my ticket in case I don't have one, and be able to get in by opening time. If I choose the van, I can pick the time they pick me up, I don't have to be shuttled to LAX from my motel (it's only a mile away), but it's very expensive!
Anybody have any other thoughts, please? Since this is a one day visit to DLR, I am over-planning and over-analyzing EVERYTHING....all you hyper-planners understand, don't ya??:lmao:
