Hi everyone! We have our first DLR trip booked this summer - soooo excited. We are renting a house near the corner of Katella and Walnut. Looks like we either need to walk up Walnut to Magic Way, or we could walk up Disneyland Drive.

Any tips/tricks/short cuts?

Any advice on the shuttle etc?

Thank you!!

You could also walk up Katella, turn onto Disneyland Drive and either:

- enter DCA through the GCH/PP entrance OR enter the GCH and cut through DTD; this will be the shortest path but you will have to wait for somebody to open to gate to their the DCA or GCH entrance
- enter DTD via PP hotel - no gate here

A ride share (from the corner to the drop off area) currently shows as $15.77. The pick up area is a hot mess in the evening and it’s not uncommon for local fares to surge to $20 to $30.

I’d stick with waking. It’s only about a mile longer than if you walked from the ride share drop off - and it’s a pleasant walk almost entirely via the DLR.

Grab some drinks and or snacks with the money you save from walking as you stroll via DTD.

I don't think there's really any good way to walk or short cuts. The walking options are pretty much what you said. I think there might be some ART stops on Katella you could maybe walk a short distance to and take that to the entrance on the Harbor side maybe? Not really sure how it works since I've never used ART but might be something to check into if you don't want to walk or use Uber.

FYI security often asks for room keys in the mornings to ensure those entrances are used by DL hotel guests.

We have walked from that area as we like a few places to eat around there, Marri's Pizza and the Asian Foodie Kitchen which are just across from that intersection. It's not a crazy walk.

You might be able to sneak in though some of the CM entrances and walk across the Simba parking lot but to be safe and to have the shade of the trees I'd just walk along Katella and Disneyland Drive. I'd turn left at the start of Pixar hotel and then go along the back side of the parking structure to the main Downtown Disney entrance.
