Walking to the park. DVC in CA vs WDW.

I'm starting to build Google Earth maps for friends/family to help them with questions and navigation of the resorts and parks for future stays/reunions. I thought this data set from the paths I've drawn will help give some contrast of the distances at DLR vs WDW.

VGC distances are from the elevator area in the VGC wing of the Grand Cal. Other distances are from the typical/main entrance.

VDH to Main Entrance (ME) - .58 (all values in miles)
VGC to ME - .35

VDH to Pixar DCA (via the Grand Cal) - .43
VGC to Pixar - .11 (LOL)

VDH to GRR DCA Entrance (via the Grand Cal) - .51
VGC to GRR DCA - .17

DLR - Monorail Walks added at the request of @ehh
VGC to Monorail - .28
VDH to Monorail - .23

Some popular WDW walks -

BLT to MK - .48
BCV to Epcot - .31
BWV to Epcot - .42
BWV to HS - .70
VGF to MK - .92 added at the request of @zackiedawg

BWV to Epcot is shorter than BLT to MLK?

Yep. Double checked the calculations. What I think may make the BLT/MK walk feel shorter is the less elevation change? That hike up the bridge coming and going helps make room for extra snacks at EPCOT for sure

The walk from BLT tower through its parking lot to the crosswalk also adds a surprising amount, I think.

My brain can’t comprehend this yet

I did a BWV stay last trip so for this one I had a bit more of a good idea where to start from -

Looks like it’s where the breezeway from Luna Park and the elevators enters the Village Green.

And for DHS, looks like starting from the end of the wing between Luna Park and the leisure pool.

VGC distances are from the very end of the VGC hall to give other resorts a fighting chance (plus to more accurately map our future trip). Other distances are from the typical/main entrance.

We want to stay there very much but the pools are down until summer. We picked okw this time for our Epcot “area” resort. We rent a car so it’s no big deal to drive over to hs to park and hop on the skyliner.

I totally forgot about that. That probably explains why I can a get room this last minute. We will likely be using the free water park day so hopefully that will get us by.

I stayed in the 1 bedroom 1095 last week and walked to HS from that exit. It’s a lovely walk in January.
I’m curious about how far to GoG from BWV compared to the front gate? I had 20k steps both days I started MK, hopped to EP for GoG and then walked to my room.

Yes. I usually go left, especially if there’s a dole whip trio at Swirled Showcase to grab on the way!

I think I mapped it on my Apple Watch one afternoon and it was about a mile from BWV
