Walking to IOA from RPR

Super quick question for you guys!

I know the water taxis begin running at 7:30am (or, at least, that's what I was told on the phone earlier this morning), but if we wanted to walk to the IOA gates on the morning of our arrival to RPR for WWoHP early entry, could anyone tell me roughly how long the walk is? You don't HAVE to take the water taxi, right?

You don't have to take the boat, we only take the boat if its there
otherwise we walk, about a 10 min. walk, beautiful path along the water.

You come out at margaritiaville, to the left about 50-60 yards IOA gates.

One advantage of the Universal complex is how everything is just a short walk away and like tricky said, it is a nice walk. We never used the taxis except once to see what it was like.

We never use the taxi if we are going from RPR to IOA because the path exit is very close to IOA and the boat dock isn't.

Royal Pacific and Hard Rock Hotel have very close walks to the parks,Portofino is a bit further but still not that far.
