Walking to HS From Beach Club

We usually walk - cut through the BC pool to the path and it's maybe 15 minutes at most and you are at the HS entrance. It's a nice walk and much quicker. The bus will be at least 20 minutes.

We did this walk 4 times on Wednesday and I was feeling it the next day :rotfl:One time we left HS right when the boat was pulling off, so we power walked (like almost jogged) and we were walking into the YC when people were walking off the boat at the lighthouse. It only took us around 10 minutes that time, but we were in a hurry to get somewhere. The other times we walked at a more normal pace and it was about 15 minutes.

Oh wait so I COULD take the boat from Beach club to the Swan Or Dolphin ? if that is the case it might be worth doing to cut the walk down at least a little bit.
Honestly, no, that is not worth is. I think you'd walk longer to reach the docks for the boats at each location then you would just walking between the 2 resorts. They are really, really close. And in the case of YC/BC dock, it's a very long dock. You would gain nothing at all by taking the boat between Swan/Dolphin and BC/YC

If it's warm/hot - no to the walking.
If it's raining - no to the walking.
If the "kids" are walking - no to the walking.
If you are not a "walker"/exercise person - no to the walking.
Out all day/heat/tired - no to the walking.

Having said that - hubby and I are walkers and we do walk it all the time - to get to and from the park or our morning exercise walk. We have also beaten the boats back at night. We normally do this early morning or late in the evening (coolest).

This kind of bums me out. Our family will be staying at Coronado Springs and had planned on taking the bus to DHS and then take a pleasant boat ride for a late lunch at Beaches and Cream before riding the bus back for Star Wars Galactic Nights. Guess it will now be four bus trips.

It is a little bit of a bummer but I remember taking my son two years ago, he was 5 at the time, and we walked to HS from YC in the morning then stayed until mid afternoon and thought we'd catch a boat back for the first time. This was our first stay at one of the EPCOT resorts. It was early August and the boat was packed. That ride was so uncomfortably hot that we got off at the first stop and hooved it from there. We are staying bcv later this month with entire family and hoping the weather is not as hot but also did not plan to ride the boats, at least midday, because of the heat.

We are planning on going to HS on our arrival day. I plan on letting the kids swim and then eating our dinner at Cape May. We plan on going to HS in the evening for a FP on RR, a ride on TOT and then the Desert Party for the fire works. I am the excise type of person my children are not. How ever I would prefer to walk then ride the bus for the atmosphere alone. I am now thinking of walking there and then take the bus back to our resort depending on how wore out the boys are by the time we are planning on heading to HS.

I feel your pain. That was the reason I wanted to take the boat ride as well. We took it form HS to Cape May one evening on a past trip and it was wonderfully relaxing. One thing Disney has taught me is to be flexible because plans do and will change lol!!

Agreed 100%. I would just bus to DHS or walk the whole thing.

BC? Do you mean BWI/V?

Haha. That's how I feel about the boat ride to Boardwalk!

Me too, I will not get on that boat. In January my husband was trying to save steps for the Dopey Challenge and wanted to take the boat to Epcot from DHS, I said fine but made it clear that he was on this own. I was enjoying my flight of wine at Tutto Gusto well before he made it through the door.

Any reports on how the bus are working between YC and DHS? I assume they are sharing with BC but wondering if they also make stops at the other Epcot resorts or not? If more than the stop at BC we will be looking into using Uber.

LOL we will have three of those five boxes checked on our upcoming trip (hot, kids, and tired), and maybe four (raining), but we're still planning on walking BW - HS.

We walked it from BC to DHS this December, and it was fine but long at the end of the day. We also did the boats, which I agree seem to take longer (but rest your feet!). Another option from the buses (which I flatly declared I would never step foot on again after Spring Break 2017), is Uber/Lyft/Minnie Van. We used all of these and they are awesome. Very quick, save steps and get you to the parks so you can walk some more!

Personally I would probably do the bus. I try to save my steps for the parks. You can easily do 10 miles a day. I'll save a mile and do a bus or boat.

When we stay in the Epcot area we always walk to Epcot but boat to DHS. I don't care if it takes me longer. It's worth it to rest my feet.

We always walk from BWV to HS. Its under 15 minutes and a nice walk. Unless the boat is waiting, we can get there long before the boat does.
