Wondering if anyone can provide information on the walk between Hollywood Studios and Swan/Dolphin? Is it a reasonable walk, and lit at night?

I often stay at the Swan and Dolphin and regularly walk to and from Hollywood Studios. The path is clearly marked and well lit. The last time I mapped it and it’s just about 0.9 miles door to door.

I think it’s a reasonable walk…about 20 minutes but YMMV; I’ve always enjoyed walking. The path is definitely well lighted .

Just because no one has said, the path is along the water where the boats are.

It isn't a bad walk, especially in the morning when you haven't been on your feet all day. But it can feel quite long when your dogs are barking after a day in the park, but definitely doable if you don't have mobility issues and/or you just missed the boat. Very well lit, no issues.

It’s maybe 15 minutes from the Swan and closer to 20 minutes from Dolphin.

all good to hear....

My daughter and I are headed down in November. We're staying at Wilderness Lodge, but have tickets to the Swan/Dolphin Food and Wine one night. We were thinking that one of the easier ways to get there would be to drive over to Hollywood Studios, park in the lot as close to the path as we can get, and then walk over to Swan/Dolphin for the event. We'd walk back after it's over at 9:30 and drive back to Wilderness.

We figured this has to be the most efficient, and parking at HS means we don't have to pay at Swan/Dolphin. Trying to get over there using Disney Transport would probably take much longer to/from.

We always enjoy that walk. That said, there are times when after a long day at DHS, we just say forget it, we're taking the boat, which are nice as well. But it is a safe and relaxing walk between DHS and the Epcot resorts.

I think reasonable is contextual. I think the walk TO Hollywood Studios on day 1 of your vacation is reasonable. The walk *back* to the hotel? It’s very hurty and much less reasonable. 😂
We found the walk very doable at the start of the day from our room at the end of Boardwalk Villas. At the end of the day after spending all day in the park, we were too tired to walk and took the boat back.

But the walk itself is pleasant and nice to have as an option.

Easy walk, very safe. Def faster than the boat.

We often would walk between Epcot and DHS.

Usually when we leave DHS we grab a drink at Joffrey's or Starbucks, and enjoy on the walk.

I will agree with most including heat and after a perk. The boat going to swan Dolphin is the first stop from HS and the last stop from EPCOT going to HS. If the boat is pulling in either going or leaving it will be faster than walking. While the boats are slow unless you are a good runner you will see them pass on your walk. The BC and BW - the way they stop will be slowee because of the stops. It is also a very nice ride but when we stay at BW 9 times out of 10 we walk.

It's a nice walk. I've done it from Epcot and back. It seems faster than the boat due to the wait and all of the stops, though actual travel time on the boat is probably faster unless you are full-tilt running it. Swan/Dolphin is the closest anyway and also the first stop on the boat circuit (from HS).

I’ve done it solo at night, and as you know Disney likes to keep the lights low at night.

I asked the two security guards at the beginning of the path if it was safe (and to help them remember a white haired lady was on the path in case I went missing :thumbsup2). They said yes (of course!) but even so I stayed as close to the couple ahead of me as I felt I could without being rude. There weren’t a lot of people on the path and while I would say it’s more enjoyable during the day, I’d feel comfortable doing it again.

Your plan sounds excellent!!!
I would have suggested taking the bus to the studios since you are staying at the Wilderness lodge because the bus stops are right by the walkway.
However, since your plans are walking back at 9:30 you might have a long wait for a bus from the studios back to the resort if you could even get one depending on what time the studios close that night.
Otherwise you would have to take a bus to Disney Springs and then get a bus to the lodge. VERY time consuming!!!!!
Your plan on driving to the studios and walking to and from the Swan/Dolphin from there is very logical even with the 15-20 minute walk.
And it is a nice walkway right along the water. Have done it many times from the Boardwalk!!!

Agree with the others. We stay at BWV and always walk to Hollywood Studios. Nearly always faster than the boat. It's a nice walk next to the canal, well lit and often not too crowded.
