Walking to/from Hollywood Studios?

Wondering if anyone can provide information on the walk between Hollywood Studios and Swan/Dolphin? Is it a reasonable walk, and lit at night?
Definitely reasonable, well lit, there will be other people walking, and should take you 15-20 minutes based on how fast you walk.

I would have suggested taking the bus to the studios since you are staying at the Wilderness lodge because the bus stops are right by the walkway.
However, since your plans are walking back at 9:30 you might have a long wait for a bus from the studios back to the resort if you could even get one depending on what time the studios close that night.
Otherwise you would have to take a bus to Disney Springs and then get a bus to the lodge.
If drinking, highly recommend the Disney transportation options. (regardless of time)

Does anyone know how late we can leave our car in the Studios parking lot if we are going to park there to walk over to the Boardwalk? We are going to Jelly Rolls and know that parking at Boardwalk isn't always possible. We don't mind parking at Studios and walking to/from the Boardwalk as we do it all the time and enjoy the walk.

We are more concerned about whether we are ok getting back late (e.g. midnight'ish) since HS will have been closed for a few hours. Will security leave our car alone and not tow it that late?

Your car will be there but you will need to walk from Boardwalk to get to it.

That's fine, we planned to walk. I was just worried if Studios closed at 9 pm and our car was in their lot until midnight or later, whether security would try to clear the lot at some point. Thank you!

Just to add to the response from @scrappinginontario, you might run into a roving security vehicle in the HS parking lot or before you pass through the HS exit. They will not hassle you about picking up your car since they are present for safety.

Contrary to what many guests think, they don't just tow vehicles left in the parking lots nightly. It happens quite often for many reasons vehicles are left overnight.

Your plan to walk seems fine, but you may enjoy hopping on the boats if you aren’t in a hurry. Going to and from HS, there are no other stops. We found the boat to HS very relaxing when staying at Dolphin.

Thanks! We decided to first drive to Boardwalk to see if they would allow parking to go to Jelly Rolls, and they did! Lots of space available in the self-parking area so I don't think hotel guests were adversely affected. The lot attendant was actually standing outside his kiosk with a handful of parking passes handing them out as people drove in.

We were prepared to go to Studios if we couldn't get in and it was good to have confirmation here that we wouldn't have had to worry about our car still being in the Studios lot if we stayed late.

We actually enjoy the walk from Studios to Boardwalk (and to the Epcot International Gateway) which we do a couple times a week to go to Garden Rocks (or Eat to the Beat in the autumn). We prefer walking to either the Skyliner or boat for the fresh air and exercise. In fact, we like the boat the least due to the noise and diesel fumes and how slow it is. So walking wasn't the issue at all - it was just concern about how long our car would be safe in the Studios lot.

Thanks again to all for the input!

We much rather take the boat then to add another mile of walking to our day, especially when it's hot and humid. No big deal if we get back to the resort 10 minutes later, plus the boat ride is nice and relaxing.

Makes perfect sense in your case if you've been in the parks all day!

We're local, so we are often only coming over to go to a concert at Epcot and then back home. The distance from Studios parking lot to the American pavilion is about the same as walking from the Epcot parking lot to the American pavilion, and is less crowded so a more pleasant walk than going through Future World and around.

On rare occasions, if it is super hot and humid, we may take the Skyliner one way (on the way over) but walk back after the sun goes down.
