I'm looking at maps from the Passporter, and it looks like the quickest way would be between the entrances to the two parks, but is that allowed? Are we going to have to walk all the way around one of the parks? If so, what is the best option?

Thanks!

Yes, you walk between the parks through the esplanade (sp?) It's a huge plaza basically. You'll have to go though security though, but it's usually really quick unless it's first thing and people are arriving for park opening.

we are planning on going to dtd the day we arrive to eat dinner. so, it's easy to find the entrance? we will be walking from hojos too.

Yes, it's pretty easy to find. I did the walk from HoJo's several times during the last trip; doesn't take too long at all. We meandered and I think it took a total of 15-20 minutes.

I do suggest that you cross the street over to (or from) the hotel side at the main entrance; the sidewalk that runs alongside the park is a bit on the scary side mainly due to the fence that runs down the entire length.

Leave your room at HoJo, cross Harbor at Manchester and walk down Harbor. You will be walking next to fences that block off the backstage part of DL. Cut thru lot after bus parking on Harbor and walk thru security, walk across the esplanade and exit security into DTD. That's it, super easy. :) Have FUN!

I take it the fences didn't bother you at all; they scared me at bit as I didn't feel like we had enough room to maneuver if my brother lost control of his wheelchair controls (he does it on purpose to clear the way). No where to jump out of the way except the street and Harbor is very busy!

I also thought that side of the street was a lot darker at night, I guess the fences block off a lot of light; whereas the hotels are pretty well lit up.

We walk on the West side of Harbor on the sidewalk with our three kids all the time, morning and night, and have never had an issue with it. Although, I can imagine if you have a wheelchair issues like you mentioned, it may be a bit narrow.

Nope, never had a problem. My kids are 8 and 11 and they walk it fine. We do too. There is less light but it is open and you can see well so it doesn't scare me at all.
