Walking to Animal Kingdom

Those fences are your protection....we don't want those animals getting loose!

You may find this hard to believe but when we went on the Sunrise Safari last year, the guide on the bus on the way over to the park said that the barbed wire and the fences was actually to stop native Florida wildlife/animals from getting IN to the park!

While I don't think the majority of people would walk a mile, there are still a lot of people would like to have that opportunity. That's less than the distance from BCV to DHS - and you'll see tons of posts from people who make that walk and/or mention it as one of the great things about BCV (you can walk to two parks!).

My biggest hope for Disney is to change their attitude towards walkers - right now they are darn hostile and I honestly don't understand why.

Most of the BWV/BCV walk threads say its a little too far to actually walk from BCVs, BWV its a longish walk. Its sold as a plus - mostly by resort partisans, in the end, given how empty the patch between BWV and DHS is every time we've walked it - it isn't worth the asphalt. While it does get walked - it isn't exactly a popular walk.

We're on the wrong side of the fence for protection then! :scared1:
