Walking Through Cinderella's Castle

What times of day is it generally open and not blocked by castle show stages? Is rope drop usually a time when you can go straight from Main Street through to Fantasyland?

I was actually forced to walk through it at rope drop on my last visit. One day it was blocked and they made everyone go right, left was not allowed. One day it was castle only, no right or left

As long as no show is about to start or fireworks, it's normally open to walk through. We go about once every 2 months and have walked through it basically every trip. Morning, afternoon, and night

Yes, I didn't analyze it, but it seems to close for a period before and after shows and fireworks.
