Walking the dogs & other entertainment

How often do you walk your dogs? I've been feeling guilty lately that the boys aren't getting enough exercise and stimulation. Things have been so busy during the day and I just don't feel too comfortable going on walks in the dark anymore. Everyone I know here seems to take their dogs out daily, I guess I'm a bad fur-mommy lately. Dakota needs more stimulation for sure, he likes the toys where he has to work treats out of them...has anyone else seen other interactive toys like this? I did buy the dog sitter dvd for them which they seem to like.

When the weather is decent I take my Winnie out in the evening. Bulldogs aren't in to much exercise, so this is fine for her. We play with her toys at night too. On weekends we often take her out for a ride...PetSmart, park, etc. And she vacations with us...she loves that.

Not as often as the dog would like.

Our dog is an Aussie Shepherd-mix and has endless energy.

For stimulation, we try to rotate her toys. She has a couple of favorites that are always out, but there are a few we rotate so she gets something "new" once in a while. I wish we could take her to more places, but she's a real pain-in-the-behind when she rides in the car.

Is there a nearby teen who would walk your dog for a minimal fee? Just a thought.

Thanks for the replies! I'll try rotating toys and the nights I can't walk maybe we can take a drive somewhere. When I had a bigger car we'd go to Sonic for an ice cream which they loved.

Pixiedust34 - It can't come soon enough!! I'm waiting on this last dang letter to send everything to China. The wait is killing me...IF the letter comes this week I'm looking at May for a travel approval from China. (unless China jumps on everything after New Years is over) The thought of waiting that long makes me want to curl up and cry!
