After many trips to Disney...my feet always hurt and burn. No matter what I wear, or brand. Does anyone have any advice on good walking shoes for kids, women and men. I will take advice on one and on all.

I don't know when you are going but I love my Teva Mush flip flops and my Montrail Molokini flip flops. If I go during cold weather, then I wear my Croc Aspens (which are also the shoes I wear to work everyday:rolleyes1 ). I haven't found any kind of tennis shoes I can wear for 12-14 hours down there, without my feet killing me.

Something else you can do is take the time when you get back to the hotel at night to soak your feet in something like a warm peppermint soak, then apply peppermint lotion to your feet and lower legs. Jafra makes some good ones. I have a little blow up foot bath I got from Avon several years ago, that I wouldn't go to WDW without. Take 400mg-800mg of Motrin at night and then again in the morning, before you leave out. Body Glide also makes a heat FX formula that is great. I use it as well as the 'Body Glide for Chafing' every morning. If you get a pedicure before you leave, make sure she leaves the calluses on the bottom of your feet alone. You'll need them down there.

I bought a pair of New Balance (WW81 WT) from Shoes.com. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. They're wider through the toe, so there was no rubbing. I had fascitis in my foot from trying to go from walking 0 to 3 miles a day!:sad2: (trying to lose weight before our trip). The arch support and shock absorbing sole made it a non-issue. I'll buy another pair before we leave on our next trip. We go in January though, so the hot sweaty weather isn't a problem.

On the first day of or trip last December I wore my regular old New balance and my feet were KILLING me! I told DH our first order of the day was to get new shoes. (nothing like planning ahead! :goodvibes ) So I got a pair of New Balance 992 at a New Balance store in Orlando. They are very light but very supportive. My feet were in heaven the rest of the trip! No break in time. I wore them again in June. I think they are just getting worn out enough to replace before this December's trip. I find that the key is that even the best shoes won't help your feet if they are worn out.

I also spend a lot of time in my Birkenstocks with good results. They have great support and are cooler. Somea re better than others for walking distances.

Wait - did I write this???:rotfl:

I have the same story - facitis, walk 3+ miles a day, New Balance = no pain. And we are going in January.

So, ditto.

And buy some Body Glide, carry it with you, and apply it when you start to feel those "hot spots".

DD, 6 yo at the time, did fine with fake Crocs and tennis shoes. She mostly wore the fake Crocs (Payless). And she walked the entire time (no stroller) and never complained about her feet.

We are a sneaker family aswell! I tried the CROC thing they killed me, I love the idea of CROCS but I could barely walk in the morning after I wore them...with sneakers never any issues at all!

I'm just the opposite. Walking shoes (aka sneakers) with Dr. Scholl's inserts were the best I could come up with for years, but my feat and legs still hurt. Discovered crocs about 2 years ago and now have happy feet! I used to take tennis shoes & crocs, but haven't worn tennis shoes in the parks in about a year unless it's a cold rainy day, and I need the coverage. Crocs are great for me!

Thank you for all your information and tips. I really needed it. Thank you again.
