walking sandals that aren't $100?

Hi! I searched for walking sandals for a long time and finally settled on Teva Tirras. I've been using them to walk in the evenings and have found them very comfortable. I was able to get mine for $50 on zulily-- that particular deal is over, but they run different sales each day so they may have it again.

It looks like some colors/sizes of that style are cheaper than others on Amazon.

I second this. They are extremely comfortable and I have brought them to Disney twice because of that. If you're open to flip flops, Teva Mush are great too. They are the only ones I will wear. I can only do half day in the parks with them, but I know others who can wear them all day just fine. They run about $25 on Amazon.

Sierre Trading post- sign up for emails, it's where I get deals on shoes like OP is talking about...my last pair of (MICKEY):rotfl: Birkenstocks cost me 28.00 all in.:thumbsup2

This is what I did, I got the Keen Whisper in the kids. I like the kids better too. The heel is completely covered where on the women's it's a strap. I wear a size 6 in women's so I got a size 4 in kids.

Great idea, but I got I've got size 10 feet...

I've tried a number of the options above. Some work better than others for me. I think the key thing is to find what works for you, and your feet. Use the suggestions to guide your search.

And if the $10 flip flops are the best ones so be it. But if the $100 sandals are the key to making your vacation a success, then I feel pretty strongly $100 is a tiny price to pay for quality shoes that will last several vacations.

I don't say that to be mean, quite the opposite. I speak form the experience of having multiple vacations derailed because of family foot injuries. Happy feet are critical element to a happy WDW vacation.

One time a family member had old shoes with bad traction. First day of the trip, it was pouring rain and said person hydroplaned while trying to make the bus. ARGH! pirate:

= a huge gash; two weeks of limited mobility, which slowed down the whole trip; and a permanent scar as a reminder - Never skimp on footwear!:furious:

If you were willing to do Flip-Flops, I would suggest Yellowbox. I find them to be more comfy than any walking shoe or sandal I have ever worn. They have great cushion. I also like Reef. Tevas would be third on my list.

YellowBox are about $19 if you have a Belk local to you.

I am a flip flop girl. I wear Teva Mush to WDW every year exclusively and have had no problems. However, they failed me last summer in NYC (which was much more walking than even Disney!)

The only thing that worked for me there were Sanuk yoga mat flip flops. So comfy! No blisters, no aching feet.

I have a pair of Teva Zirra Lite that are okay but the straps will eventually bother me if I go all day in them.

Nike flip flops with memory foam.

I second these. I have wide, size 10 feet with "monkey toes," and I have never found a pair of shoes that didn't just kill my feet. Nikes with memory foam feel wonderful. No heel rubbing and enough give and cushion for all the walking at Disney. However, they do get dirty quickly so I always buy a new pair for Disney!

OP here. I ended up buying the Teva Tirras. They were $80, but my mom came down to visit for DS's 11th birthday, and she always likes to take me shopping. I tried on all kinds of walking sandals, and she bought me those. I'll report back to let you know how they did!

I love my crocs. I have several different styles and love them all. I will be bringing them along with my Merrels. Those are comfy too!

If you can do flip flops, I found some Nike flip flops with gel-type foot beds that are so comfy. I've worn them all over WDW, and pretty much ditched all my other flip flops in favor of these on a daily basis at home too. I also have a pair of Yellow Box flip flops that feel like marshmallows on your feet - super comfy too, and I wear them a lot, but not quite as much arch support as the Nikes, so I tend to favor the Nikes for WDW in general. I got both for around $25-ish - the Nikes have been at Shopko the last couple years, and the Yellow Box are all over Amazon.

If you have a Nordstroms Rack near you they almost always have Keens at 40-50% off.

I love my Sanuk Yoga Mat flip flops. I can wear them for an entire day in the parks with no problem.

I hope the Tirras work for you, OP! I'm crossing my fingers that mine can get me through our trip next week, but I'll have sneakers with me to alternate, too.

I love my Crocs Mary Jane's or Shayna. Easy on the feet and have a strap so they don't fall off. Also don't care if they get wet.

Also love my Dawgs .... kind of like Crocs. Right now on nomorerack.com they are running a special for $12.00 each for the sandals. They sometimes have other styles there on special also.

Looking at the teva tirra online. There are slides and sandals. Do the slides..well, slide? Or do they stay in place easily? Generally I prefer slides b/c they are usually cuter. But for Disney, I don't want my toes to have to be gripping the shoes all day. Experience? Thanks

I haven't worn that particular kind, but I've worn crocs that slide and my feet would slide right out. At first it was funny, but then it got to the point where it was annoying (lol). Too bad because they were very comfortable.

I just looked up the teva tirra and they don't look like they would slide. They look very nice. Hopefully someone that owns them will comment.

Last trip, I discovered the KEEN Newport H2 Sandals -- they were the best pair of shoes I've ever worn in Disney! So, so comfortable, and obviously they stay in place. I ordered the kid size (size 4 in kids equals size 6 in ladies), but they are sold in regular ladies sizes too.
