Walking in with an extra person?

What has been your experience with this?
My mother has decided to join our vacation in August. I thought going from a party of three to a party of four wouldn't be a big deal. I had to modify all my ADRS and change some times. Overall I was successful except for Ohana. I have a 6:30 ADR for 3 people but cant modify it to 4 people unless I change the time to 9:40. What do I do? Would calling the restaurant help? What would happen if the four of us showed up?

I would stalk the reservation system to get an ADR for the right number of people (or larger) at the right time. 'Ohana does have tables for three, so group of 3 wouldn't be automatically seated at a table for four. 'Ohana is a very popular restaurant, so it is possible that you'd be treated as a walk-up if you show up with a larger party size.

I agree with the above post. It is best to try to get the correct amount of people to ensure that you are seated promptly/timely.

There's no way to call 'Ohana directly. All reservations are done on line or through the dining reservations phone line.

We're a party of 3 and every time at 'Ohana we've been seated at a 3 top so I agree with the PPs to try online to get a reservation for the correct number of people in your party.

My sister had a similar situation happen at 'Ohana. An uncle & his wife drove to Disney to meet them and decided to stay for dinner. When they all got to 'Ohana, they were told that the extra 2 wouldn't be able to eat there because the reservation was for 5 (not 7) people. My cousin decided to take her toddler back to the room for an early shower & bedtime so uncle & aunt could dine with my grandmother. Otherwise, uncle & aunt would have had to find something else to do while the others were eating.

I wouldn't worry about it. It is only 1 extra person. I am sure they will accomodate you.

If you were going from a party of 6 to a party of 7 it may have been more of a challenge to seat you. Tables only accommodate so many chairs. But going from 3 to 4 should be the same table setting.

I've added one more person when I arrived and had no issues. I waited an extra 5 minutes while they re-arranged our setting but the staff were all very nice about it. It is Disney after all.

The problem is that the OP is going to 'Ohana, which has dedicated tables for three. As a PP said, as a party of three, I've been seated at a three top every time as well. While, it is possible that 'Ohana can accommodate one more person (changing from a three top to a four top) there is a chance that all of the four tops are already booked. It's better to try and get an ADR for the right number and right time. That way you don't have to worry that they can not accommodate your request.

I agree. I've eaten there three times as a party of three, and we were placed at a designated three-top table only designed for three diners. The restaurant was pretty packed on each of those nights too, with a long line of people at the podium hoping for a table to open. In the meantime, keep checking Disney's website. I usually end up getting a great last-minute ADR in the weeks (or even days) before my trips. Best of luck!!
