Wanting opinions on walking a reservation the week of Christmas 2010 to get an advantage booking BWV Stndrd 2 BR and Standard Studio Dec 19-26.
Christmas falls on Saturday so thinking that week before might be pretty popular as most schools will be out. Will I likely be competing with folks for the week I want that are walking for the 24/25- thus making the demand for those days more and a need for me to "walk" as well????

Think it's necessary? I havn't quite decided how i feel about "walking".

I'm on the fence about walking my reservation too. On one hand, it feels like giving into paranoia and being a crazy psychopath about a vacation (of all things); on the other hand, since we banked all of our points except *exactly* the number that we need for our 2010 trip in a standard view, we have to get that view or we'll have to shorten our trip. I really don't know what to do. I really hate giving into the paranoia, but the truth is that for this particular vacation, I am uber paranoid because we are so tight with our points. So, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm sure I'll be walking our vacation, cussing myself every day for giving in to the paranoia. :sad2:

I'm confused .. exactly what are you walking? We can now reserve 7 days forward from date of arrival, so how does walking a ressie help anymore? unless you referring to stays longer than 7 nights?

Thanks!

Say you want a busy night, like Dec. 31st. Your trip starts Dec. 29th so your 11 month window opens up Jan. 29th.

However, those that start their vacations on December 25th will already have been able to book that night.

So, those that want to be sure to get that busy night, actually book Dec. 25th - the 31st at the 11 month window. Then they call day by day and drop the first day and add the last, eventually getting what they want, but that busy night is already taken care of.
