If we are staying at RPR what is the quickest way to make our way to WWHOP? Should we just walk or take the water taxi?

The boat is really nice. BUT. When we were there, going to the boat dock was actually out of our way. We needed to go right to get to the path, but the dock was to the left. Which was fine, unless the boat was JUST leaving...then we didn't want to wait for the boat, and had to retrace our steps.

Also, the boat lets you off at a big dock that is in between IOA and Universal parks. So you have to actually backtrack a bit (going up stairs and then to the bridge) to get to IOA. And you don't backtrack for either park when coming from the RP path (and IOA is closest to it).

Basically, if you are good, quick walkers and no one is going to sweat to death on the way or be miserable, you might consider just walking. If you like being more leisurely about it, take the boat. (there are also shuttles, which I, for some reason, didn't know about, even though it was in the literature AND the guidebook I bought!)

Walk for sure - it's a pleasant walk ay alongside the water taxi route. An easy 10 minute stroll and you're right there.

We find the walk to be quicker. Stay in Tower one. The path is right by the exit at the end of the hall. It's an easy walk.

Yep another for walking. Took us longer than we thought it would to get to the boat dock in the resort , then wait for the boat and as someone else pointed out actually have to back track from the dock to the park entrance....we walked for the next 3 mornings.

Took the boat back in the evening mind you :)

Here is the walking path highlighted. This from RPR lobby (at bottom) to IoA gates (at top). As others have noted, you will have a slightly different route near the bottom depending on where you are at RPR.

For what it's worth, the two boat docks for this run are just out of frame.

Although walking is typically faster, half my group still prefers to wait for the boat. The boat ride is very relaxing.

A few times, I've seen the line for the boat so long that not everyone was able to get on and had to wait for the boat to return.

We just returned on Friday (1/27) and we were in Tower 1.

I agree with everything that's been said. Walking is fastest unless you hit the boat just right...which doesn't happen a lot. The boat is relaxing and we usually took the boat back to the hotel.

But, if you are going for the early opening, I would suggest walking since many will be waiting for the boat at that time.

Go out the Tower 1 doors at the bottom of the elevator, cut through the pool gate there and exit out by the lagoon gate. Easy 10 minute or so walk.

Enjoy!

for my past trips, i stay in Tower 3 and the first room from the elevator.

where i come out, is a short walk to the boat dock.

the walking path is near it.

i take the boat.
i save my feet for walking in the park....

i only walk when forced to.......

We stayed in Tower 1 last summer on the top floor; our room was in the leg of the tower closest to the parks. Where we were, we could just walk a couple or rooms up the hallway and down the stairs to the bottom floor then out the door. It was right by the path and a leisurely stroll of 10 min got us to IOA. According to the above map we probably cut off the first squiggly of the red-lined area. It was a longer walk to Studios....add at least about 5 more minutes.

Yes...that is the route we use. We had a park view room and just went right down the stairs at that end of the building and came out right to the pathway to City Walk.
