We just got back last week from POFQ. We walked on the path along the river one morning to get breakfast at Riverside. It takes about 10 minutes and it is a very nice walk.
As far as the mugs go I suspect that they are the same at FQ as they are at Riverside. All they say on them is Disney's Port Orleans Resort. Same goes for the resort pins also. Just one kind to be had.
That's exactly what I planned to do
Walking to the other foodcourt at breakfasttime to see what they serve over there. Very nice to know that that is possible.
We really like Boatright's at the Riverside resort. It is a full-service (as in they actually have waiters take your order and deliver your food) restaurant. Much nicer than just a food court. They also had a couple of interesting items on the breakfast menu that you don't always see, for instance, berries and cream and also grits. Have fun.
Thanks for your quick answers, that's great!
How did you like POFQ by the way?
What I have heard it's a great resort, but now I want to experience that myself
So I was very happy with the great APrates.
We have stayed at a variety of resorts but we both thought POFQ was one of our favorites. Disney just rehabbed FQ last year and everything was still very new looking. The grounds of the resort are small, which makes it easy to get to food courts, transportation, etc. and the grounds are very nice looking. It was also nice being able to take the boat to DTD or Riverside.
The mugs are good at both resorts. They have always been sister resorts, so even when the mugs said "Dixie Landing" and "Port Orleans" you could use them for both. When they changed the hotel name, the mugs just said Port Orleans.
We love POFQ. We like Boatwrights for dinner. We always go there once per trip.
We stayed at POFQ in June for 10 days. The walk along the river takes about 10-15 minutes and is very enjoyable. My wife and I really enjoyed walking between the resorts during the evening when the lights were twinkling in the trees and it was quiet - very relaxing.
This is our favorite moderate. We like the size (the smallest of the mods) and the atmosphere - cobblestone walkways with twinkling gas lights (at least they resemble them). The walk along the river is very nice ... especially at night. You can also catch a carriage ride at the POR that will take you around both the POFQ and POR.
You can use facilities at both, anytime. The mugs are good at both. Don't miss the boat ride to DTDisney and also don't miss the lounge entertainment at POR. His name escapes me for the moment ... but it is excellent FAMILY entertainment ... he is a "hoot" and both kids and adults love to see his show.
The walk between POFQ and POR is very scenic. I took some early morning pictures of FQ in August. Some of them are of the path. Here's a link if you're interested. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/epcotbill/my_photos
