Hi - did someone mention that there is a shortcut when walking from the Hojo's?????? Wanna share it????:goodvibes |pretty please?

The only "shortcut" I know of is: cross Harbor at the motel.....walk along the DL fencing......before you would get to the main pedestrian crossing, you can turn & go thru the bus waiting area (you'll see benches on your left for the city bus stop...it's just past that on your right side)......you just cut thru & walk straight up to DL. It's not near as crowded with people....just watch out for the buses & taxi's!! The main ped-crossing is just another half block (if that) away.....but it's usually somewhat crowded with people.

It's not really a shortcut, the pp described it very well. You simply cross at Manchester and walk down the side of the street opposite of everyone else, you then "cut" thru the taxi parking and walk to the gates. It seems faster to us, there are less people to have to try to avoid so we prefer to walk that way.

Yup, ditto to what PPs said. There usually aren't that many people walking that way so DBF and I can walk faster. Plus, it seems to be a more direct route to the security entrance on the right hand side :thumbsup2

Plus by crossing at Manchester you avoid all of the driveways on the east side of Harbor. Much safer. I've seen people almost hit as cars turn in/out of McDonalds.

We also try to avoid the crowd on the busy side of the street on the way to Disneyland. However, a stop at McDonald's on the way back to HOJO's, when Disneyland closes, is almost a nightly routine!

The walk really isnt too bad, but if you do take the ART bus, where does it drop you off at DL? Is it all the way out at the main street?

Hey! We'll be staying at HOJO's at the same time!! Are you going to have a green mickey head?

It was several years ago but it was with the other Disney busses dropping people off. It was somewhere in the middle about half way down.

I will tell you that HOJO was the last stop on the loop. It was painful to wait for that bus to come around when I knew I could walk it just as fast. To me its not worth the money.

I just got back last week. The HOJO ART bus drops you off at the closest stop to the entrance within the bus loading/unloading area (at least as far as ART buses go). I think the Toy Story lot buses might get you a bit closer.

We took ART quite a bit because it was blazing hot (95-100 degrees numerous days), but it is a bit painful being the last stop on the loop. That being said, the loop is only about 15 minutes long. It saved our sanity--at least on the way home. It was sometimes painful to wait for it on the way in--but we always got an early start to catch an early bus. We were close to the front of the lines for gate opening every day and maybe one or two layers of people back from the rope once in the park.

I say if your feet are killing you and you are exhausted, it's worth the $$.
