In the map, the two resorts look very close. Can we walk from Grand Floridian resort to Polynesian resort? Would it be shorter than taking a boat? We'll be staying at Grand Floridian resort, but would like to visit Poly sometime if it's going to be an easy travel.

Yes you can walk. There is a walk-way between the two resorts. It is a bit of a walk but a nice enjoyable one (as long as it isn't too hot out).

We walked from the GF to the Poly the night we had dinner reservations at Ohana's. Very enjoyable.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I was thinking of doing private photo session at Poly so that we can get nice picture of Grand Floridian from the beach, but I wasn't sure if that'd be too much of a waste of time. But it sounds like it's a easy trip and nice walk. I'm excited :goodvibes Still unable to decide if I want to do it at GF or Poly, but I still have time (my trip is mid September), so I'll decide by then.

The path is paved and has lights for night walking. I would guess the walk is 10 to 15 minutes.

It's a great walk at night when everything is lit up around Seven Seas Lagoon. My husb and I always stroll back and forth.

Yes, it's a very nice walk if you go early in the morning before it gets hot, or after dusk. We like to take a sunset walk on the path. :cloud9: Great photo opps along the way. :goodvibes

We walked to the GF from the Poly so we could take a look at the wedding pavilion about 8-9PM at night after the Luau and it was enjoyable. As people said above, maybe 10-15 minutes and great views.

The walk is very nice, as PP said, about 10 min.

The boat ride is faster, but not if you include the wait for the boat (could be as much as 15 min or so to wait,) and less than 5 min ride from GF to Poly. Poly to GF takes longer, as it stops at MK first (assuming they haven't reversed the route since I last took it). But, the boat ride is nice also.

I'd walk from Poly to GF, and then take the boat the other way, so you can experience both!

Thanks! That sounds like a good idea. I'll probably take a boat from GF to Poly and take a nice walk back at night :)

Ditto N365PA report. Extremely romantic thing to do. Wave to the passing monorail passengers. They will be green with envy. Well OK 4 out of 5. Be sure to peek-a-boo inside the wedding pavilion and notice that the background for the "ceremony" is a large picture window view of the castle. Beautiful!

We did this when we stayed at the Poly, and had reservations at the GF. What was great for us...is that we could go in and show our son the wedding pavilion where we got married. Took pictures in the same spots of us as a family as we did when we got married. It's a nice walk.
