Tell me about the walk from Candy Cane to DL. Their website says 250 yards. I'm skeptical after looking at Google Earth. Unofficial Guide says 10 minutes.

How do you cross Disney Way? Is it a typical big city crosswalk?

Thanks!

The crosswalk at Disney Way is where the buses enter to drop off Toy Story lot guests. I don't know what you mean by "typical big city crosswalk." I would say it is about a 10 min walk, but remember they do have a shuttle.

From the Candy Cane driveway to an entrance turnstile, it is a 1/2 mile. If you are talking from the driveway to Disneyland property, it is about 1000' or 333 yards.

It's a super easy walk and I don't even remember crossing anything busy. I prefer it to being across the street and having to cross Katella. We've never taken the shuttle.

We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn our last visit. We never ended up walking because we found the shuttle to be very nice and dependable. But the walk is not that far at all. (I do walk for exercise - but my 8 and 11 year old could walk it no problem)

I times the walk at 11 minutes from driveway to the center of the esplanade(with no wait at security).

If the shuttle was loading or pulling in it's worth waiting for and taking. But if you missed it you may want to walk, of course maybe not at night when you are worn out.

The walk is quite pleasant. Not many people walk that side or Harbor, and it is nicely landscaped as you walk along Disney's property line. The crosswalk over Disney Way is barely a problem because it's a short light you wait for because only the buses(and currently some construction vehilces) enter there on a quick light. In my time above I did have to wait about 15 seconds.

We timed the walk from the CCI driveway to the Security line on DH's stop watch last trip. It took us (adults) 8 minutes at a fast walk, making the crosswalk light. Coming back the same distance in the afternoon for a quick nap took us 12 min. :upsidedow We weren't moving quite so fast anymore. ;)

We've only taken the shuttle once or twice in our 3 stays just because we never timed it right. Either it was just leaving as we left our place or we were too early didn't want to wait an extra 10-15 minutes. It's a great shuttle, we just were usually on our own time schedule.

Candy Cane would be my first off site choice..they've always been a nice place to stay and the walk is really not bad..we stayed at Jolly Roger for Expo and CCI was MUCH closer and seemed like it would be a really easy walk..so nice having the ABC and 7-11 so close by also.
