Anyone have an idea how long a walk would be from BLT to MK. I've never been to comtemporary so have no idea the distance from there either. I've seen google satellite images and looks pretty close. ANyone hike from contemporary and how was the hike.

It's a very pleasant walk, I'd say no more than 10 minutes or so. To me that's the biggest appeal of BLT!

Depending on your walking pace, anywhere from 7 to 10 minutes. It's not far at all. You can take the monorail but walking is quicker because you have to make monorail stops at the Transportation and Ticket Center, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian before arriving at the park.. On the other hand, it's quicker to take the monorail when returning to the hotel because the Contemporary is the first stop on the resort monorail track.

It looks like from the front gate at MK to Splash is about the same as the front gate to BLT on google earth.

It's a quick (10 minutes or 15 if you stroll) and wonderful. It is the only reason we are buying into DVC. We almost always stay at the Contemporary and that is why. My DH and I love to walk to and from MK, our favorite park.

Sometimes, the walk can even be quicker than the monorail. One night last trip, my children were too tired to walk back so they got in line at the monorail and we walked. We beat them because the lines for the monorail were long and they didn't catch the first one back to the resort.

I just walked from the gates of the MK to BLT, and it only took me 5 minutes. Granted, I do walk very fast (ask my DW).

We timed the walk last year, from the main gates to the Contemporary, and it was six minutes. We took our time, stopped to take a photo along the way, and didn't hurry by any means. All in all, you're looking at about the same time to BLT (although it is situated slightly more north than the Contemporary, it's pushed back a wee bit to the east - thus probably a "wash" in terms of time).

That's what I like to hear! :cool1:

That will be so good for planning and minimal time wasted. Instead of leaving your room from most resorts at 7AM to make an 8AM ADR at CP or CRT-you can leave at 7:45 and know for a fact you will make it on time. Same for a return FP, Wishes, parades, last minute gift the day you leave.

Hop, skip and a jump.:teleport:

It took us about 15 minutes when we stayed at the CR. We were in a garden wing room so that was total to get to our room. I would think it would be about the same to get to BLT. And we were pushing a stroller, so wouldn't have been speed walking but at a nice steady pace.

Remember, Jade, that one needs one's bags checked. You bypassed that with one of your tracks. :)

Oh yea, that is true on entry. I can rerun them but in someones mind it should be about like walking to BTMR for those curious. I ran BCV to the France bridge for Illuminations wich was .35

And BWV was also .46

EPCOT bus to Illuminations was .41 but as you pointed out you enter quite a bit further down for both bags and entry now-close to .46 I bet.

The simplest way to think about it is, it's about twice as far as the buses.

You walk by the bus stop, cross a 2 lane road (at a light.) Then across the parking lot. I've done a number times, going to the California Grill from the park. Sometimes I take the monorail, but normally it's faster to walk.
