Walking down main street show in MK & EE

I have heard that they do the walking down mainstreet show obviously on mainstreet. But when? What si involved. I have not been able to find a description for it. Is it right at opening? What about on EE days. Do you have to go back at the stated opening time or is it when ee starts? Also, at EE are their characters to meet and greet then? Is it worth it to stop and watch the show and characters or go right to the rides? Trying to plan our morning at MK in 10 days!!!

I honestly don't think the characters were there to meet and greet on the EE days. I know they weren't at AK or Epcot, and I'm pretty sure they weren't around at MK.

As for the "Walking Down Mainstreet" show, it's performed by the musicians and singers at various times during the day. We never saw showtimes listed, but were around to see the show 3 times during our 5-day stay. It was nice to hear that one, since that is one of the favorite songs on our sing-a-long tapes
