Which hotel is a closer walking distance to the monorail, DH or GC? I'll be bringing a one year old next year and I want the one that's closest. :sunny:

When we took our 1 year old (she is 5 now) we found that taking a stroller on the monorail was a major pain. IMHO, it doesn't matter which is closer, it is MUCH easier to just walk...on several day trips we even walked all the way to the parking structure rather than deal with the parking lot trams because it was such a pain.

I think the answer to your specific question may depend on where you are in the hotel - I'm guessing here - but I think parts of DGC are closer to the station than part of DH. Does anyone else know for sure?

I'd say the monorail station is pretty much an equal distance from DLH or GC. However, if you stay at GC, you'll be right next to the parks so you could just walk. And like the previous poster mentioned, bringing the strollers on the monorail can be a total pain!!

HTH :earsgirl:

On the other hand, if you're renting a stroller, the monorail station in DL isn't anywhere close to where you rent strollers. That's in the front of the park, while the monorail drops you off in Tommorowland. Also, note that the monorail will be closed for construction from September-May.

Its closer to walk to the Main gate of Disneyland than to the Monorail :rotfl2:

Really, they have everything so compacted the monorail ride is mainly good to get you into the back of the park faster than going into the front.

Years ago you would have thought the Monorail went through the Disneyland Hotel but now it seems so much further away but in reality nothing changed in distance. There use to be a lot of stores between the Disneyland Hotel and the monrail giving illusion of it going to the Hotel. Now Rainforest Cafe sits there as does other stores/restaurants. Id say GC is closer only becuase it spans the length of Down town disney a long ways. Really the distance difference isnt enough to make it a consideration over where you want to stay. They are both good for thier own reasons.

You can rent strollers in the star trader store. You have to go to the cash register near where star tours exits. YOu can't see the strollers, they have to get them from the back room.

Are there any other places to rent strollers besides the front of Disneyland? What's this about star trader renting them? Do any of the resort hotels offer them? :confused3
