walking distance Hotel

First trip to US for the 2nd week of march.

I am looking for a nice (clean and comfortable) hotel that is a walking distance to US. I will be travelling with my 10y old son and we wont have a car.

The US hotel are out of my price range.

What can you tell me about the:

-Holiday inn express
-Best Western Orlando Gateway
-Holiday inn at the entrance

do you have any other suggestions?

- One more question, the package I was looking at had a ticket for 3 days we are staying 4 days can we add a day to the ticket when we get there?

You can upgrade your tickets at either park once you arrive. Just go to Guest Services and they will be able to help.

I can't really help on the hotel suggestions since I live and don't stay in the hotels. Someone with more hotel experience will come along and offer their assistance.

Hyatt Place is close to the parks, in July it was $100 a night. Great hotel.

Most of the hotels on International Drive have access to the I-trolley. This is an very inexpensive way to get to the parks. We used it last summer on our Sea World trip. I think it would go to Universal, too. Just google it there's a website with all the stops it makes.

I know a few have stayed at The Doubletree, beeside Universal.
Barb aka bubbas mum, stayed their 1 night in Oct at HHN, its in her report here
and a few pictures as well, think she said about 10 to 15 mins to hotel, but think this was from Citywalk, you could ask her, look near the end of post 17

I did it!! I just booked for the 2nd week march at the Holiday Inn at the entrance.
