Walking BWV to DHS

If you do take a boat back from DHS, I'd suggest getting off at the Swan/Dolphin stop and just walk over the bridge to the boardwalk. The boat stops at there first, then goes to the Beach club and then to the boardwalk.

We had a party of 8 walking to DHS in February, it took us 15 minutes of leisurely walking. We had 4 kids from ages 7-12 walking with us. (Our room was looking out at the Luna Pool.) I agree with a pp, go down one of the fire exits on the river side and you'll cut your walking by a good bit vs. going out by the lobby.

The walk will definitely be quicker than driving. Depending on exactly where your room is and where you have to park your car, the walk to DHS could be just as long as the walk to your car

I booked a deluxe studio with a boardwalk view, so I believe that puts us per near the ESPN Zone. I saw some where on disboards that someone posted a google Earth image and plotted the walking path. I will have to search for that also.

Thanks for all the insight!

No, that is not correct. The rooms near ESPN belong to the BW INN, not the BWV. The BWV Boardwalk view rooms are between the dock and Atlantic Dance.

Here are some map posts that you may find helpful:

Boardwalk Views Map - BW View is the BLUE Line:

EPCOT RESORTS / DHS / EPCOT Map - the BWV are the section of the resort closest to the canal, across from the Swan. The Inn side is closer to EPCOT and ESPN.

HTH.

Carol,

You are awesome! Thanks for posting the links!! I met a group of people from Minnesota in Cancun two months ago!!

When I have walked from the Boardwalk to Hollywood Studios it's taken me between 10 - 15 minutes. Plus if you walk through the Luna Park Pool it takes you to the walkway and that means you don't have to go all the way down the Boardwalk, so that saves you at least 5 minutes.

If you're on the boardwalk or near it, may as well use the boat unless you just want to get in a walk. I think the benefit of walking is starting at a point in the resort that's closer to DHS and further from the dock.

I'd still walk. By the time you walk to the parking lot and then from the DHS lot to the DHS entrance, you will have walked almost as far. The parking lots are almost halfway to the DHS!

Plus I do not believe the DHS parking lots open that early.

The only time that may be a problem (hot) will be the late afternoon return. Consider taking the boat for that trip.

I TOTALLY agree with this. I always walk to DHS when I stay at Boardwalk and BC and I am not a health freak. LOL.

It will take you longer to walk to the BWV parking lot (especially depending where your room is because BWV is HUGE), get in the car, drive over there, park, and walk in than walking from your room to the walkway to the DHS gate, even that early in the morning.

It depends on where your car is and where your room is. If you can park near the tennis court, you can be quite close to some of the rooms.

The thing is if you take the Boat it will stop at the Yacht Club/Beach Club and Swan/Dolphin before it arrives at Hollywood Studios.

Plus walking from the Boardwalk makes sense since they are the closest among the Epcot Resorts to Hollywood Studios.

I realize the route but my opinion is that if you're on the boardwalk, it only makes sense to walk if you simply want the exercise. The distance from there would be somewhere around 8/10 of a mile. Of course one can take an in between option of walking over the Swan/Dolphin if you just missed the boat.

One thing you forgot is you don't need to walk out onto the Boardwalk to access the walkway. If you walk through the Luna Park Pool it leads out onto the Hollywood Studios walkway and saves at least 5 minutes, instead of walking all the way down the Boardwalk.

NO didn't forget it and it was mentioned above. Someone quoted 0.7 mile to the entrance to the pool which sounds about right. As to whether that route saves you time depends on where you start at. If you start at the boat dock or on the boardwalk itself it likely doesn't but it might for other locations. My opinion would not be changed by this piece of information.

I personally agree with this, although it is completely subjective. I think I do too much walking in the park to do an extra 1.6 miles of back and forth commuting.

It looks like it would be a pleasant walk, though... or so I've thought while sitting on the boat comfortably. :)

It is both a lovely walk and a lovely boat ride. Since OP will be up at the crack of dawn, if you walk, you will get a chance to meet all the friendly rabbits that can be found on the path (underneath the overpass) in the early am.

As others have said... it's about a 15-minute walk... i'm a "stoller" not a quick stepper, so that's about as long as it should take. A PP was correct in their assessment that the parking lot is about half way to BWV anyway, so why not walk it?
Good luck to the young Jedi.
