Walking at VGF is getting ridiculous

While I am not in favor of having every change be a cancel/rebook, I would be okay if they changed it to a 14 day with any changes happening within 30 days be a cancel/rebook. I am someone who may adjust a few days with airfare and schedules but that never happens within 30 days of starting so this type of policy wouldn't affect me. I think for the most part, if you are doing it within 30 days, it is close enough to the 11 month window that you should be held to the cancel/rebook policy. JMO...YMMV

If the objective is to stop most walking, I'd rather see a policy that allows us to make a reservation of up to 14 nights from day of arrival and does not allow any modifications (including guest name changes & additions, adding or dropping nights) to a reservation until 10 months (or closer) to arrival. That should stop all but the very few who have a large number of points from walking and FWIW, I don't think those members are doing much walking. JMO. YMMV :)

I would agree that early Dec is probably the best candidate for an increase in points, but as others have pointed out it has to be comprehensive and with the entire system in mind, not specific to one resort. Additionally, if past practice is any indication these types of point reallocations are fairly infrequent, haven't there only been two in DVC's history? With the last "just" 5 years ago, I don't actually see them doing another when any time soon...I just don't think they want to get into "micro managing" the point charts every few years.

I agree.

I don't see a need to change early December seasons because the less expensive or highly desirable options which are very limited in number, disappear quickly at 11 months. For early December this year, only standard view and Boardwalk view were difficult for BWV owners. Pool/Garden is still wide open. 1 bedrooms are still available in all categories for almost all December nights. Other than VGF, I'm not reading that owners are totally shut out of a resort if they book at 11 months. They just aren't all able to get those "specialty categories". To me, changing seasons for early December would be "throwing the baby out with the bath water".
