If I were to walk around the perimeter of SSR how far would that be? I walk 3-4 miles/day on a treadmill at home (at a 4 mph pace) and was going to just use the treadmills at the spa when I'm there. However, I would like to change it up a bit and walk the grounds after hearing so many wonderful things about SSR. Does it sound like it would be something I would like?

TIA

There are some great places to walk at SSR. Caskbill did some GPS measurements and posted a map giving some of the distances in his Pathways Revealed - SSR area thread awhile back.

You could also consider walking to OKW along the canal - the walkway is paved and quite nice. It is .93 miles from building 55 at OKW to Cirque at DD. You will pass the SSR golf bridge along the way - it is near the boat dock and the route could easily be incorporated into a nice long walk.

We walked almost every day this week from our room at OKW to Cirque and back - a distance of about 2.3 miles roundtrip.

Enjoy! :)

Here's a current map with Caskill Bill's measurements. My dad especially enjoy the Grandstand/Carousel loop. It takes you across the golf course and back through the heart of the resort. Loop around the Paddocks is around 1 mile. Throw in Congress Park and you go up to 1.5-1.75 miles.

For a 4 mile run I think you need to throw in a loop to OKW or DTD. Only do DTD early in the morning. By 10am the place is full of shoppers.
