Walking a reservation?

I don't understand why you are guaranteed the remaining nights?
Thanks:)
Because no one who doesn't already have a 7 night reservation can book the 8th night until the 11 month window opens for that night.

For example, let's say there are exactly 5 studios available. When the 11 month window opens, 5 people call and book 7 nights: 12/3, 12/4, 12/5, 12/6, 12/7, 12/8 & 12/9

The next day, people call to book 7 nights in a studio starting on 12/4. They are locked out. No studios are available for 12/4, so they have to waitlist. They can't book 12/10, even though it is 7 nights away, because the first night must be available to make a reservation.

Since all 5 studios were booked through the night of 12/9, no one who calls before January 10 will be able to book the night of 12/10. Their first night is not available. So as long as the first 5 people call before 12/10, they will get the night of 12/10 to add to their vacation. Guaranteed. That's just the way it works.

Thank you! I understand now. I was planning on walking a reservation (dates actually needed: 12/26/10-1/3/10) Any advice on the date I should try to start walking it? Thanks Again

What resort, room size & view? Not all Christmas week reservations made right at 11 months need to be walked.

Animal Kingdom Villas, 1 Bedroom Value
Thanks for help again!!
Hoping someone else will chime in, too - I don't recall many postings re the value category at AKV. Others may have some experience to fall back on. Mine is all at BWV.

That said, I'd start walking your dates on 12/24 - the Friday before. IMO, the real reason to walk is NYE. Don't be afraid to waitlist if necessary. 11 month waitlists have a very good record of working.

Good luck!
