could anyone recommend good two way radios i can buy in the uk for use at disney parks any help is appreciated.CHEERS

Basically, you can't.

I asked the self same question in 2003. It has something to do with the frequencies. The frequncies which our walkie talkies use are not available for the public to use in the US. It's possible that they are restricted to the emergency services or the military. US bought walkie talkies use a different frequency range. They can't be used in the UK. Catch 22,

Not sure that anyone would swoop down and arrest you or anything but I guess the regulations are there for a reason.

When you get to FLorida, buy there but don't be tempted to buy ones which are cheap versions as there's too much interference and you can't hear what's being said. Ours were $50 from Walmart. Work fine. Our friends bought some for $30 from the Radio Shack and they didn't work except in the villa and it's estate.

We have been down the walkie talkie root, buying cheap ones. They worked in the parks, but it seemed that everyone had the same idea. We had about 12 freqs to choose from and people were on all of them. It was quite funny listening to everyone else!! We had to use code names so we could recognise each other. Another solution is would be to buy cheap triband phones. I have just bought 2 virgin mobile's with £10 credit each for £19.99 each. It will cost 25p a text, to expensive to actually make a call though.

There is a better option on the same site i.e. £25 credit. I have the link but not sure if I am allowed to post the link or not.

Hi,
Cheap is not always bad, I bought a pair of Cobra walkie talkies on sale in Best Buy for $12.95 (had a $15 mail in rebate voucher inside too.!!) They claim to have a 5 mile range and have 22 channels they also have "sub channels" which allows for even more privacy.Work great in the parks and the malls. But beware you WILL be in bother if you use them in the UK. Just checked on the Best Buy website and they have bargains at the moment.
Best Buy

Mick.
