Walkable Hotel with Bunk Beds?

The Anabella is a less than ten minute walk to Downtown Disney. You walk behind California Adventure, past the Paradise Pier Hotel and go in the GCH, turn left and exit into Downtown Disney. Then walk to either park. We have stayed here a lot. Its a nice hotel.
Thanks, that answers that question!

We did a family suite at the Portofino two years ago when DH and I took DS and a buddy of his (the boys were both 16). It had a separate room with bunks and a pull-out couch, table and chairs, tv and microwave. The "main" room had a queen bed and a tv, vanity and access to the only bathroom. Honestly, it wasn't a fantastic hotel but it was clean, within walking distance (just across the intersection of Harbour on Ketella) and reasonably priced for the type of accommodation we needed. The separate room gave the boys a little "space" to surf the net, play cards, etc., for a bit each night without being right under our sight at all times.

EDITED TO ADD: There were absolutely no issues with bedbugs, filth or lack of security at the Portofino. I can't even put my finger on what failed to impress us... :wave2:
It's funny how that is sometimes, that we just either get a good vibe and love a place, or feel more indifferent but can't really pinpoint why.

It's good to know there was nothing specifically wrong with it--its all very helpful to read.

I'm not sure how to edit my previous posts but this is the list of Bunk-bed rooms in walking distance that came up on the thread:
1) Grand Californian --lovely, but too pricey
2) Del Sol --it looked a little worn, but close in
3) Dessert Palms & Suites--not available, but fairly close
4) Anabella--some mixed reviews, 10-15 minute walk, looks charming, not cookie cutter
5) Springhill Suites--some rave reviews, room looks great, but definitely more expensive but could be worth it, 10 to 15 minute walk
6) HOJO--great pool, 10 min walk, didn't have suites available but had 1q 1bb which face freeway
8) Park Vue Inn super close, small room but generally favorably reviewed.
9) Portofino
I'm leaning towards the Portofino right now even though it is further because it has a king size bed in the bunk bed room (which Hubby would prefer), we had family stay there recently and say it was fine and they liked it well enough (but not so much that they'd say pick it over a closer spot). The biggest perk though is on the website it says they have a guaranteed late check out of 4 pm option. Our flight back is at 6 out of SNA, so I think we might be able to really get in one more park morning (and everyone says mornings are the most fun time, less lines and crowds).

So I'm trying to reassure myself that would be worth it over the much closer Park Vue, or picking the raved-about places like Springhill or Hojo. I realize its sort of an individual call, and "YMMV" but I want to make sure I'm not really missing anything about the tradeoffs. :confused3

If you stay at the Park Vue (or another closer hotel) you can check out in the morning and have them hold your bags while you're at the park. Then you don't have to worry about check-out time really, just do it before going to the park in the morning. That is what we do, though we drive. We check out in the morning and pack the bags in the car. Then we go to the park and leave when we're ready.
