Walk-ups for TS restaurants in May?

We are visiting DLR for the first time in just a few weeks. Our dates are May 14-18. Since we are only there for a few days, we decided not to make any dining reservations and stick to doing CS meals for lunch & dinner. I'm wondering what our chances for getting a walk-up at any of the TS meals would be during this time frame? Fairly good? Impossible? I am so used to the WDW way of making ADR's 180 days in advance to eat at most restaurants and walk-ups being nearly impossible for some restaurants! Thanks in advance for any answers to this question, or any other May tips you'd like to share with me! :goodvibes

According to TP crowd calendar, the crowd is estimated to be a 2 out of 10 (which is low crowd levels) on the 14th - 17th. The 18th is estimated to be a 5 out of 10. I imagine that you would probably have little wait for a TS meal on the "2" days.
Hope that helps.

Being midweek in May you can probably make the reservations a day before or during the morning with only small problems about getting the exact time you want.

I would suggest you do dinners at TS on 16-18th because they are Grad Nites, and the grads tend to eat at CS locations.

I just wanted to say that I have been to the DLR during very slow times (February mid-week) and we still could not walk up to BB or CO. That surprised me. We had no problem making a reservation for the next night, but we couldn't walk up to those restaurants at all.

We were able to walk up to Storyteller's and Wine Country though. But if you were thinking Blue Bayou or Cafe Orleans, I would at least call a day ahead or even the morning of.

You will find that dining at DLR is so different from WDW. You should be fine except maybe for the 2 mentioned above. We have AP and don't do TS often but when we do I will usually call and make the reservation the day of. You have to make reservations at least 1 hour before. I love being able to walk up at a location like Wine Country and being seated within a few minutes while those waiting around you stare at you. ;) It pays to call ahead, even an hour.

Thanks everyone for the advice! We are really excited about our first trip to DLR. I'm still trying to get through the big WoC thread! :thumbsup2

I definitely suggest getting a reservation for CO or BB. We too have been turned away without a reservation, in busy times and slower times. Otherwise we've been able to walk up to just about anything, Ariel's Grotto included. :)

We will probably skip both of those restaurants. We are from New Orleans, and find that it is best to avoid New Orleans style food from anywhere else! It's just not the same.

Of course it's not the same, it's not going to be authentic, it's in a theme park. LOL That doesn't mean you should skip either place, both have some delicious choices and dining at BB (inside the PotC ride) is something you should consider. It's quite a unique experience.
However, the point to my response was simply to indicate that these are the only 2 places you're likely to need a reservation, all other TS places should be able to accommodate you on a walk in basis.
