DH agreed to a last minute (well, last minute for me at least - I'm already planning our trip for next Aug so this one is way sooner) trip to WDW to see the Holiday decorations. We are goin gDec 1 - 6 and will be going to MVMCP on Dec 2nd.

My absolute favorite restaurant is Cape May Clam Bake at the Beach Club. I have planned for that Saturday to go resort hopping checking out holiday decorations and ending up at Cape May for dinner...Unfortunately I have been trying for 3 weeks since we decided to go - and it is booked on the 3rd, 4th and 5th (our only available nights to go).

So, my question is this - if we arrive early and try to get a walk-up table, do you think we have any shot at all? 0%...50%....80%??? I really only want to try this if we have a decent shot as we'll have to go elsewhere and likely won't be parked near there and it'll be a long journey back to the car and to an offsite location.

My good friend got a walk up lunch reservation at LeCellier once during Spring Break...so I guess anything's possible....just thought I'd see if anyone has an opinion on this.

Possible, but since the crab legs came back on the buffet I will tell you it is ALOT HARDER.We were there Dec 12-19th.The only time I could get the whole week was 8pm on Dec 19th.I tried all week long to get in as a walk in or change it to earlier and I couldn't.I even had the guest services desk try to work some magic to no avail. The Cms at Cape May said it is alot harder with the crab legs on the buffet and free dining.

A couple of weeks ago I would have said "yes", because we have seen people get walk-ups at Le Cellier, Ohana, and California Grill in the past, but last week we saw walk-ups turned away from Cape May, California Grill, Boma, and Chefs de France. It was likely due to free dining. See if that will be a factor when you are going.

Keep checking online or at any resort front desk Concierge when you arrive. You might find cancellations or last-minute availability.

I just made a ressie for 5:20pm for Thursday, Oct. 21st for 6 people, 10 minutes ago, so keep checking. Good luck, I would try going when it opens (think 5pm), I would think that would be your best bet.

Every morning when you get up, call disney dining and see if they have any cancellations.

We have walked up to dinner at Cape May more than any othe restaurant I can think of. Our trips are usually in September or January.

Good luck!

Trying to get a ressie first week of Nov and no luck. Wondering if I should risk a walk up for our large party (10.) Thanks.

It was exactly this week last year when we tried this on a whim. They gave us a buzzer, we hit the bar for a drink and we were on our second chardonnay when we got the call. Great time, and they had the crab legs.
