Has anyone had success at Ohana's without a reservation. We are at Disney for 17 nights in May and can't get an ADR for any night. As there are just the 2 of us is there any chance that we might be able to get a table without one. I'm sure a lot of people make ADRs and then don't actually use them.

Keep checking...Even when you are there you can keep calling to see or check online if you have internet there...People cancel all the time...

I would not suggest going out of your way to go there without an ADR (unless you are staying at the Poly that is) because it is unlikely you will get a table...Even with ADR, people wait for their tables at Ohana.

Depends. We were there once and were told that without an ADR we would be guaranteed a seat but when we would be sat was unknown. When we arrived at 6PM they told us it would be anywhere between 7PM and 10PM. We decided not to wait but if you don't mind waiting possibly 2-3 hours I think it's probably possible. They just stick people in when a reservation doesn't show up.

I have never done this at Ohana, but have at other restaurants. I have been told that if you show up at opening time you have the best chance of getting seated without a long wait. We did this at Chef Mickey's when we couldn't get reservations. We were there right when they opened for dinner and were seated within 15 minutes. Good luck! :)

when we were checking in for our ADR in january, we saw a number of guests w/out ADRs and they were giving them buzzers... since you are two adults, the bar is a nice place to wait ;)

We're going for 17 days in May too - and I was wondering the exact same thing about 'Ohana's. since we can't get an ADR either. Perhaps we'll run into each other at the bar waiting for tables :goodvibes

'Ohana and Boma are the two that I think it just isn't worth the attempt.

I would get an ADR for Kona Cafe as a backup and then try a walk up at 'Ohana. If you can't get a table at 'Ohana then Kona is a great place to eat.

When are you going? We have a reservation for 5/24 at 8:35...but I'm guessing we won't last that long to be able to eat that late...but it was the only day we could get and we might take an afternoon nap to be able to make it.

So....there is probably a 50-50 shot of me calling at around 7 to cancel that 8:35 reservation. If you really want to take a chance, you could pop over there and see if it is available. Of course, as a pp said, that is a long way to go for the chance it might be available. But if you are staying at the Poly, it is probably worth checking out. You could also try calling each morning or afternoon & see if anyone has canceled. That way you don't make a trip for nothing.

Defenitely go for it. We are a party of 2 and have done this many times. We are usually told it will be a 2 hour plus wait and it has never ever been that long. We have a lapu at the bar and by the time we have our second one deleivered we are seated. Never been turned away. Best wishes!:cool1:

See you there! Ohana's is the only place we wanted that we haven't been able to get.

Thanks - but 8.35 is a bit too late for us too and that's actually the only date we could get CG.

That was exactly what I was thinking of doing - been to Kona before and liked it. A PP suggested arriving at opening time for Ohana so will probably make an ADR at Kona for around 6 and turn up at Ohana's at 5 or just before and play it by ear.

We asked them at the podium last time we were there and they said that you need to get there before they open for their 1st round of dinner. Apparently people go there 30 to 45 min before they open and get put on a waiting list.
If you want to eat there I would try it.

i'm going to be cancelling a reservation for 26th of may at 9.30pm if anybody needs it. i don't know quite how it would work though lol

I have been religiously stalking the website to see if I could be so lucky as to get a reservation for a party of 8 for my husband's birthday at Ohana on 3/19/11. It is completely booked:sad1:

I have a backup reservation for 6:45pm at Kona, but I will try the suggestions of walk up before the restaurant opens.

I will however continue to stalk the website to see if anything happens to open up until the day of:thumbsup2
