Walk up to table service

Has anyone had any success just walking up without a reservation to any of the TS restaurants? I have never tried without a reservation, but for our upcoming trip, most things are booked. Please tell me "yes"!

We walked up for a lunch at Sci-Fi in May. It was before they opened but there was someone standing outside at a podium. We asked what the possibilities were and they said we would go on a wait list and it would be first come first serve and we would sit at one of the round tables in the back not a car. We actually got in right when they opened, before lots of people with ADRs and were at a 4 top table in the back not one of the 3 tops. We enjoyed it more than we would have one of the car seats since we were 3 people and one person would have to have sat by themselves. This was we were at a table, 2 on one side one on another.

I also managed a walk up to Sci-Fi right when it opened. We originally had a dinner reservation there that evening but had cancelled it due to landing a BOG dinner but wanted to see the atmosphere!

We have walked up to Sci Fi several times. A lot of it is how you approach the person at the podium too. If you're friendly and nice it seems to me you have a better chance. Watched a really snotty woman walk up (party of four) and be told nothing available until 4pm. I was behind her and asked politely (also party of four) and she said "wait just a minute"........ please take this pager and wait over there for minute and someone will call you. We were seated within 15 minutes.

A couple weeks ago we walked up to Raglan Road and Wolfgang Pucks with no reservation and got right in. Also had luck at Sci Fi last year and got a round table in the back, it wasn't right at opening and we waited 20-25 minutes. However I think you're going during FD? May be a tad harder-always worth trying, though!

We had a 5:30 ressie at Yachtsman a couple of weeks ago and they were 3/4 empty for an hour while we were there.

We have walked up to Kona and Ragland Road with no problem.

DW & I walked right up to Mama Melrose in DHS - however, it was about 1:30pm so we missed the lunch rush. hope that helps!

We rarely make ADR's for dinner. We have walked up to Via Napoli (short wait), Chefs de France, Nine Dragons, La Hacienda, Biergarten, Il Mulino, Kimonos, Tokyo Dining, The Plaza (lunch), Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch), Tony's Town Square (lunch), Brown Derby, Flying Fish, Big River Grill, Raglan Road (had a short wait at the bar, but got in) and Portobello (also a wait, but got in). If you don't mind a little wait, you should be fine.
