Has anyone had any luck getting into restaurants w/o a reservation at lunch time?? My husband would really like to eat at 50's PTC and Yak and Yeti but I cant for the life of me get a reservation. There are only 2 of us and we are going the last week of September.

First week in September, we did three walk-ups. Lunch-Raglan Road and Mama Melrose. Dinner-San Angel Inn. In all three cases, we were there close to start times for the particular meal. I don't know whether Le Celier and Tutto were taking walk-ups, but both had quite a few empty tables at the start of dinner hour. You should be able to find something.

on my last trip i wanted to do the dining plan. yes i only had a few weeks to make reservations as the opportunity to go to WDW came rather unexpectedly, but i wanted to try the dining plan.

i went to make reservations online and every restaurant i tried i saw that nothing was available. so i didnt do the plan.

when i was at the Studios i wanted to eat at Sci-FI for lunch so i walked up to the desk and asked if anything was available for 12 and she said yes. another time i went to the rose and crown for dinner at 6 pm and only had a 15 minute wait. we also walked into Raglan Road for lunch with no wait at all.

so being that this really isnt peak time you may get lucky with walking in.

good luck.

One of the easiest restaurant for a couple to get in without a reservation is Biergarten in Germany. It is also one of our favorites. With the Munich style dinning it is pretty easy for 2 people to get in to fill up a table somewhere.

DH and I seem to have great luck walking up to places right when they open or a few minutes before the open....even when the dining line or dining online reservations say they are booked

Prime Time 50's cafe - I have only been able to get a walk-up ONCE if I sit at the bar (and I am by myself) for lunch. They are reserved always, even for lunch.

Yak and Yeti is getting very popular, since the word is getting out that the food is pretty good - it is a newer place, so you may not have a good chance getting a walk-up unless you go mid-afternoon.

Rainforest Cafe is another one that you could wait up to three hours for a table.

Like the PP stated, it would be easier to get a walk-up in places like Epcot where there are so many more restaurants/counter services. The Biergarten is also one of my favs.

What I have been hearing is that they only release a certain percent of the tables to the reservation systems so a walk up should not be a problem. You may have to wait like you would with any restaurant back home but you should have some luck. Please don't take my word its just what i have been hearing.

We just got back, we found that you needed to reserve really early. Lunch was better than dinner especially if you flexible with your times. We couldn't get anywhere in Hollywood Studios and only places available for dinner in World showcase Epcot were Chef de France and Nine Dragons. We opted for Nine Dragons in China, which was nice and not too expensive.

During our trip at the end of June, I walked up to Tony's Town Square in the MK for lunch and Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Both times we went right when they were opening and got it. I'm sure a little luck was involved . . .
