Walk to DTD from POFQ?

No, you cannot walk to DTD from FQ. You can take the boat or the bus.

Well, technically you could walk there...it just might not be the fastest or safest choice to make. Check Google maps (or your preferred mapping website).

While there isn't a path designed to take you from POFQ to DTD, you could walk alongside Bonnett Creek Parkway and turn left at East Buena Vista Drive and eventually arrive at DTD. BUT, I do not think they even have sidewalks in this area and these are 4 lanes of heavily travelled roadways.

If you really had your heart set on walking, it might be better to take the "back way" and turn left on Disney Vacation Club Way, which will take you past OKW, the entrance to the Treehouse Villas and (after a bit) SSR. I believe this is a 2 lane road which has slightly less traffic (than above), but still would be a hike.

We've used the boat and the bus from both POR and POFQ to get to DTD; I would recommend the boats as a beautiful and relaxing option.

If Disney security sees you walking along the side of the road, they may pick you up and take you back to your resort. There are a lot of narrow areas along Disney Vacation Club Way where there isn't any shoulder or curb to walk on. With all the buses traveling that direction as well as all the other vehicles, it's very dangerous.

Take the boat or the bus. Or drive your own vehicle.

Agree with the PPs who warn that attempting this is VERY dangerous. Besides the very heavy traffic and lack of sidewalks and marked crosswalks, don't forget the critter factor!! And I'm not talking Blossom, Thumper or Bambi (although they're around too). There is a lot of open, untended nature between the resort and DTD. I would NOT want to be risking an encounter with a water mocassin or a gator!

I would not even try to walk to DTD from POFQ it is not safe at all and like minnie mum I would not like to run into an unfriendly local.

The boat ride is lovely though and you get a great view of DTD which at night just looks magical with all the lights.

As other posters have said, no you can't or shouldn't walk but if you are staying at French Quarter you can walk along a path to Riverside. At night the path is lit and is beside the river and is very beautiful. And as other people have said, you can take the boat from Riverside and French Quarter to DTD and that is also a very peaceful ride.
