What is worse case walking time from furthest cabin to marina?
20 minute walk?

Thanks in advance

Just curious why you would want to walk that far? I understand all about walking for exercise but considering the miles one puts in walking at the parks I'd think the walk to the marina would be an extra not needed. I'd guess 20-40 minutes depending on if its adults or with kids in tow. Personally I'd grab a bus from your loop and save the walking for the parks.

Well the answer was helping me decide if I really did want to walk that far. I have never visited FW and did a very last minute reservation so no golf cart and if it was just 1 mile or 20 mins - then we would walk instead of waiting for a bus/folding down stroller, etc.. But as the next person wrote 45-60 that is more like 3 miles and a different story.

Thanks

You'll never wait 20 minutes for a bus INSIDE the campground. The 20 minute wait is for the buses at the outpost that take you to attractions. The busses inside the campgrounds (yellow, purple, orange) run on constant loops. We were there the last two weeks of July and I would be surprised if you ever wait as as much as 10 minutes.

My suggestion is don't be afraid to take off walking for the view and the exercise, but if you get tired, there is a bus stop every couple hundred yards on any main road. The sidewalks are great and this is one campground that actually has scenery. There is attractive plant life and we saw lots of small critters, rabbits, birds, squirrels, etc. while there. Plus it's always interesting, as an rv-er, to check out other folks rigs.

We walked around the Fort a lot last winter (~ 3x per week for 9 weeks)...

I'd say that the cabins furthest from the marina are those closest to the entrance & big bus area (where you catch the buses to parks) -- even at a slow saunter - enjoying the walk - I'd be shocked if it was much more than 25 or 30 minutes. If you're a regular walker & the littlest kids are in strollers, I'd say much more like 20 minutes.

go to the above site you can put in the address and it will zoom you into the fort and mark the spots from your cabin to the marina and give you the exact distance. Remember October it will still be warm and humid so be sure to bring plenty of water with you when walking.
