I know this has been probably asked but I am still very confused.I see people wanting and people giving out a 20% discount for photopass but want to know why?
The last time we were in disney was 2006. Yes, people were around taking your picture here and there and then giving you a ticket to go view your picture. If you want to buy the picture you do.
Why would I pay about $99 for someone to take my picture if they do it for free anyway?
I am sure there is more to it that I am not getting so someone please enlighten me.
Thank you so much. If there is a reason why I should preorder this I will.
Thanks

We preordered the photopass CD for $99 before our last trip. It was totally worth it! We didn't have to pick out which pictures we liked and wanted to buy, we got them all. We never had to worry about who was gonna be in this picture and who was gonna take it or trying to ask someone else to take our picture. We were all in the family pictures. We didn't have to take our camera to BB and worry about leaving it while we were on a ride or getting it wet. They were taking tons of pictures in the kiddie area that were so cute. At BBB, the photographer took a bunch of pictures of my DD. We ended up with over 200 pictures by the end. Plus, when you get home and look at them, you can add borders from the different parks or characters. We had a lot of fun doing that. We are getting another one for our upcoming trip in Dec.

As the PP stated, you are not paying to have your picture taken you are paying for the rights to ALL of the pictures. You get all of your pictures, along with any borders you might add, on to a picture CD.

These have been some of the cutest pictures from our vacations - I would have hated to pick and choose based on budget. Getting the CD has been well worth it for us!

If you want lots of photos it is so worth it. We had fun finding photographers around the world & took lots of photos.
If you just bought a few photos they are expensive...but if you buy the CD you get all the photos you had taken on the CD. Then you can go to Walmart & print them for a bit of nothing.

They can also add the pics from chef mickeys, and maybe other table service restaurants, I dunno. It is a cheap way to get all of your pics, and then have them printed locally for 10 cents a print rather than 5.99 apiece at least that Disney Charges!:scared1: - best value in all of disney!:cool1:

They told us at Chef Mickey's in Sept that the pictures they took could not be added to Photopass. :confused3 Maybe it's different this year. Also last Sept, the only ride photos that could be added were the ones from test track. Does anyone know if that has changed? I thought I saw something about Space Mountain but I may have made that up!

I had mine added in september of last year from chef mickeys! What a crock! Sorry you couldn't add yours! I had mine added at the kodak center in epcot - I just gave them the reciept and a photopass card, and when I looked at them at home, they were there!:confused3

You can add the photos from Chef Mickey if you buy the photo package. Same thing with 1900 Park Fare. On the receipt, it will have the Photopass Event number on it to add to your Photopass account.

ok, so if we buy a package then they will add them?? What's the point, you already have the pictures if you bought a package! Oh well! :rotfl:

It was one of the best pics we got, so we used it for our christmas cards. :rotfl2: - Good Luck! - P.S. a friend of mine went with her sisters fam, and that was how they were able to get two of each pic

Thank you all for the wealth of information you all provided. Now here is my next question: Where can I get a code for a discount on them? I remember reading awhile back about a very good code but can not find it. It probably is expired by now.
I am going mid august-Do I purchase it now or wait?
Thanks

The option to print more copies (legally) is the big deal for us! If the picture is good enough for us to purchase, it's probably one we're going to want for someone else. We go often enough that we're picky with our package-purchase photos though so it's going to be REALLY good for us to get it.

Also, if you pre-order, you can get a refund if you decide not to order the CD after you view and edit your pics. So its a win-win situation. I was disappointed with the number of Photopass opportunities this summer as opposed to other years, but even with less photos, I ended up ordering. The pics with the borders added are just too cute and its nice to have everyone in your group in the pictures.

Oh, and most of the time the photographers will take a picture with your camera after they take one with theirs.

This is the first time we have ever done it. We are still working on adding borders, etc... I am really excited and I know we will do it for our next trip also.

We add all the borders to all the pictures. Just because we can :rotfl2:
You can also add the pictures from the Pirate League pirate:, Test track :scared1: and from what I hear you can now add the one from Space Mountain ;) but I missed even being aware of pictures so we didn't look.

I want to make sure I have this right. We are going on a trip from August 21 - August 31 and returning for another trip September 29 - October 5. If I upload our pics from the first trip just before we leave for the second I should be able to combine both trips on one CD correct? I just have to make sure to edit all pics from both trips within 30 days from when I uploaded the pics from the first trip right? Thanks in advance for clearing this up!
