Walk me through flying & airport procedures please!

Still trying to figure out how much to pack... my girls like to have many "costume changes". My DH said we'd be taking one bag full of dress up clothes for photo shoots and scrapbooking. He knows me too well! I'm hoping to pack light but always pack too much!
So who has any suggestions on how many bags to pack? We'll each take a carry on... 2 young girls, my DH & me.

Don't forget everyone needs to take off their shoes at security....not a big thing, but if you have little guys you might want to get them to wear slip on shoes. I didnt think I would have to take my sons shoes off of him at 4 months of age, and of course I had him in cute tie up shoes, that took a few minutes to get back on a fussy baby that doesnt like to wear shoes to begin with. Heck, I dont have time to do laces up on my own shoes when Im at the airport....so my tip is slip on shoes (also good for distended feet while in the air).

It depends on the airport. I went through Toronto and Vancouver within the last week and I didn't take my shoes off at either of them (definitely didn't in Vancouver, and don't think I did in Toronto - flights all seem to blend together after a while).

Okay, got it, slip on shoes! I think we'll likely wear our 'dogs/crocs' and pack the runners in carry on.

Do you think 2 hours between flights gives us enough time in Denver to go through customs, collect our luggage and transfer it, get a bite to eat and go through security?? Or do we go through security then eat? Are there restaurant service windows once we go through security??

I always chose to eat after I go through customs/security. I like to make sure I go through what needs to be done, find my gate, and then relax. I think Denver's a large enough airport, you will find food near enough to your gate. I have two flights, PEI-Montreal-Orlando this summer, and the layover time in Montreal is one hour. We have literally one hour to go through customs after landing! They changed the flight times. But the AC site says that the minimum layover for connections through USA is 45 minutes. I'm not stressing!

I hope everything works out for you!
