Just got all caught up. I don't really know what to say since I'm not crafty and my feet do fine in moisture-wicking socks and walking shoes at Disney. But looks like things are coming along great and I love the adorable picture of your girls! And my memory of staying in Parterre Place is that the walk to the main building was much shorter than anything you'd have at a value resort. We went to the main bus stop most of the time - it was just across the river, really. Not bad at all.

Finally catching up after my trip!

I hope you enjoy the dessert party. We did it on our trip as well. As a side note, we also stayed at POR. We were right next to the East Depot. I actually suggest going to any other depot BUT the South one. That's always the busiest one and by the time the bus usually makes it there, there aren't any seats left.

I've been lurking, reading, and wishing I had half your creativity when it comes to outfits and details...

But I wanted to pop in with a suggestion for your feet. I also have foot (and knee!) problems, so I need to wear comfy, supportive shoes at Disney World, too! Before our last trip, back in 2012, I'd read about some really super cushy, supportive socks, the brand name was Thorlo. They were expensive enough that I nearly choked when I looked them up online, but I bought a few to try out, because I knew that if I lost a day or more at Disney to pain in my feet/knee, I'd be losing out on a lot more money - and fun! I was amazed at how well they worked. No blisters, no hot spots, and my feet felt almost as good at the end of the day as they had at the start. Amazing! It might be worth checking into, as something else to keep your feet in good shape on your trip! I'm planning a Disney trip in October, myself - and on my to-do list is a few more pairs...

Anyone can be creative if they put their mind to it!

Thank you SO MUCH for the suggestions, I have made a list of all the brads and things people have mentioned and I have already compared reviews and prices and it has been super helpful!!!

I meant to add in my previous post that I have feet issues too - I have plantar fasciitis and knee problems - I thought I was going to have to have surgery to remove/repair a torn meniscus in my left knee when we got back from WDW, but I had absolutely no knee pain while we were there - or any issues with the fasciitis.

You can soak your feet in Epsom salts each evening - you can fill the tub with hot water and add the Epsom salts - makes your feet feel better.

If you do a search on running socks, there is a list of the top 11 running socks - Thorlo is on it as well as Balega, and a bunch of others. All are expensive though.

I have a pair of Converse sneakers that I love, but they don't love my feet. Absolutely no arch support in them, and after wearing for a very short while, my feet hurt, so I understand about not wearing flat soled shoes! I added a pair of arch support insoles to them and I can wear them for a longer period of time, but I'd never be able to wear them all day in the parks.

Again, THANK YOU! I have the thorlo down on my list for sure, they have been mentioned by several people to me and the reviews are all raving! I already priced some out and have made myself a "foot plan" for while at The World!

Boy, THIS is the key! Take it a bit easier since you'll be there so many days. The girls will be better able to cope as well and won't get burned out and have melt downs if you slow down. It is VERY hard to do, especially when you first get there and are so excited to be there! But you'll settle in after a couple of days and it actually gets easier to slow down. It is soooo nice to have lots of days!!

Tess is giving you some great advise! In fact, you're getting lots of good advice from lots of people. That's one thing I just love about the DIS. Everyone is so willing to share their tips to help make your trip more magical.

I'm so glad you are already walking. That will help so much. And, yes, Texas is BIG!!! Our twin nephews live in Austin and that's quite a hike for a visit from Dallas.

We will def be taking it easier this time around! We will be in MK like 6 times, so a few of those will be like half days and we will go back and rest. And yes, people here have been beyond amazing and helpful! SO thankful for all my wonderful Dis friends!!

April! WOW! I did see these the day you posted them, but I have just got around to getting on the Dis and they are so friggin' amazing!! I absolutely ADORE the Toys Story ones!! Tooooooo adorable! And the Mickey ones are so sweet and perfect!

Painting shoes is pretty fun, huh??? I love it!!! I am so glad you tried it out, because they came out AMAZINGGGGGGG! I cant wait to see what you come up with for your own!! Yeeeee!

HELLOOOO my friends!!!

I have missed you!! And I apologize sooo much for my short hiatus from the Dis!

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter!!!

BUT! I want you all to know I am catching up now, and I have just had so much stuff going on!! So first off... this may be off topic, but some of the things that have kept me away...

First off, April always ends up being the busiest month of the year for me, I can clearly recall thinking that very thought the past few years... I think its the combo of so many thing starting and ending and the holiday... so my Bible Study and Life Groups at my church I am a active part in are both coming to an end, and I have been helping out a lot with those, then we had our soccer season begin this month and it is recital crunch time for Liv's dance class. On top of that there is Easter craziness and this year all our plans went down the drain when my hubby's grandfather was hospitalized for a few weeks. He is all good now and back on his feet, but it did result in Easter in my tiny apartment with KFC for our meal... oh well, what can you do?!?! My kids did enjoy that their egg hunt this year consisted of NO candy and was all Disney pins they hunted for instead!! That clever little Easter bunny...

Also, I have been making shoes like CRAZY still... everyone wants em!! I enjoy that time, but it has been a challenge to be able to sit down and work on them though... heres a couple pairs I have been working on this week, both are still incomplete.

Those are almost done, and made for a local friend who did the girls Lilo dresses, and next up is Raina's pair of Alice in Wonderland ones, which I just started but haven't photographed yet, but I will post soon! And then I will be starting some Princess and the Frog and Wreck it Ralph ones soon too!

Also, I have a few goodies that came in the mail via Jackie!!

So we were expecting shirts...which were AWESOME!! EXACTLY how I envisioned them...

What we were not expecting were these ADORABLE towels, which you probably have already seen on her thread, because she made one for daughter too!!

They were SO excited about these and began to play in them immediately, once we got home!! Seriously, made their day, or week actually! I am for sure taking these for our pool towels this year, people will be envious of us, lol!

I am soooo forgetting to mention about a million things, but oh well, I am moving on, because what I really want to talk about is DISNEY PLANNING!!

First off, THANK YOU to everyone who messaged me and told me when the dessert party opened up!! My hubby and I were resigned to the fact that we had missed it somehow and were already deciding not to worry about it and it opened up!! I had to talk him back into it!! LOL! But, of course, I am good at that and we are BOOKED for the Sept 29th!! WOOHOO!

I mean c'mon!! This is ridiculous! I may very well miss all of wishes because I will still be trying samplings from this gloriousness!

Now, in even BIGGER news....

I am sure you are all very well aware that FD came out to DV card holders today, and the world was SHOCKED to see POR was excluded, which blew mine, and so many others plans to smitherens... well yeah, upon receiving this news I had to do some serious thinking with the hubs and Olivia and we made a change in our plans...

We def did not want to stay at AOA anymore, no FD there and we could not afford to add the 2 days to our trip that I was now cemented on doing... so that was out. We looked into CBR but I really wasn't feeling it, I mean its a Mod and doesnt even have queen beds! So that was out... CSR was out of price range, so that was out... so where did we end up??!!??!?!?

Pop was not even in my scope. But upon looking at the numbers it started to look better and better... we have already paid in full our AOA plan, by switching to POP and getting the FD we will be able to stay there with the 2 extra days, in a preferred room to save my feet, upgrade to the reg dining plan and STILL have money left to purchase the Memory Maker and get a couple hundred or so back to buy our MNSSHP tickets and do our stroller ressie.

What can I say, we couldn't resist getting a preferred location and getting all the little extras paid for... at this point I think even if they eventually release FD at POR later I would just stay at POP... when it comes down to it, it wont matter what resort I am at, we will have FUN! And what matters a LOT to me is saving my feet! So POP will be perfect for this trip. When I showed Olivia photos online she was so excited too!! I thought she'd miss being in a LM or RR, but as it turns out she really doesnt care! She loved all the fun statues scattered around POP and agreed she'd like to go for longer!!

I am really happy with our decision, and once I finally made it I felt so much relief, so I know its the right one! I already called and switched all our stuff so we are now booked for 12 days/11 nights at POP with 10 day base tickets and the reg DDP. On wed when FD goes public I will call and add the promo and the MM and get my refund going! All is right with the world!

*Sigh* Now I just need to figure out my dining stuff, bc I am not 100% happy, but I will save that for another post! I must go read all of your threads now and play catch-up! Night!!!

I think you made a great choice changing to Pop! I could totally see myself in the same position and doing the same thing. Just a relief and giddiness to get everything you want plus extras, all paid for, and then get some money back? Saaaweet!! And thumbs up on Preferred rooms, I think those are a great and worth while indulgence if you really want it(which normally I do! ).

You're right on booking POP, it's just such a relief to have made a decision! I really think we will like the preferred room, my only major beef with LM at AoA was the distance from everything.

Yea, fam in the hospital is never fun, were just glad he's doing good now!

I am excited for Ralph shoes, but I gotta say my sketch for Princess and the Frog is my fave so far! I can't wait to see how they turn out!

The towels ARE awesome! They use them basically everyday now and they always have to play in them a bit after bath time before they hang them up again!

And I was thinking the same thing on a visit to AoA. We can take a little stroll and grab some food from the pasta bar and check things out.

And POP!!! Now that is something I didn't expect - but you know what... I think it's a great choice! I think you are right - and you guys will have so much fun! 11 nights of BLISS!!!! I am still sad that we can't do our long trip this year, we've gotten so accustomed to 9 & 10 night trips, it's very difficult to squish it into 7. I have heard so many fantastic things about POP, I really think the girls and I need to consider it for a trip - I think they would love to have 11 or 12 nights... but I am with you totally - I would find it absolutely necessary to have a preferred room location, I don't think I could stay there with out that.

So, I am very excited for you... and very excited to see how this changes some of your plans... . Oh and congrats on being paid in full... If I were you - I'd take that refund $$, bring it with and use it to book a bounceback for next year. :whistle:

I am pretty surprised by Pop too! It was not even on my scope and I sat down in front of a list of the FD resorts and just thought, "huh, that would be good for me"... I think I got to the point where I dont even care, it mattered more to me the length we get to enjoy ourselves, and the fact that we can take a slower pace with so much time and get to squeeze in lots of fun dining and stuff. I dont even know if we will use the food court for more than drink refills, and the kids will love any pool.

Good idea on the refund money, better yet I could use it to pay for my awesome, amazing, orginal, super cool bag I will be getting

I know!!! I REAAAAALLLLLYYYYY hope it can all get worked out too, but its BOG, so I understand, if it were any other ADR it would work.... ya never know though, its not too late to loose hope!! And I feel the same about the resorts, I think it would be so fun to try diff ones each time too!
