Walk-ing Back to Disney! COMPLETED 10/16! A Fall 2014 PTR!

For you or for Peanut? Or both. I would love to see you all dolled up with a tiara and sash! You would totally rock it. It would make a fun birthday present for Peanut before (I know I shouldn't say this but) she gets "too old" to really love the magic of the princesses.

no way.. I am not doing BBB.. :lmao:I did the Barber shop. I would do that again!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

:bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday:

What a fantastic party!!!! I didn't know they had them! :dance3:

Your pictures are fantastic!!!!

Hi i have just come over from your too cute trip report. I really enjoyed following your family.

I just wanted to point out that you left a phone number on the invitation and maybe you should block it out. Just a suggestion. I wasnt sure if you realized.

Thanks for your report and i cant wait to read more

Whoops on the #!! Lol...hmm, I need to go redo that photo now ;)

Thanks for following along! :wave2:

I had NO IDEA that they did parties!!!! it looked like a lot of fun. I wish I could let go and have a birthday party somewhere else, but I get way too into the party planning......:hyper: Audrey has been angling for a chuck-e-cheese bday for years :sad2: but I keep talking her into other ones

Yeah, it is hard to let go of all the planning, I love party planning as well, but with all my Disney planning it was okay, I still have something to work on!! And I did get into making those goody bags! Isn't it funny how kids can have the most amazing themed parties and they still ask for a boring ole' chuck e cheese birthday!?!?! Sigh... :confused3

no way.. I am not doing BBB.. :lmao:I did the Barber shop. I would do that again!!!

I always forget about the barber shop! I dont even recall seeing it last trip!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

:bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday:

:cool1: Thanks!!!! I showed that to Liv and she LOVED that!

Alright, so you have probably already seen me fishing for answers to my MB question on other threads. But I have been wondering if people have been getting into decorating the MB's or not!

I have been reading A LOT of TR's lately and in all of them the guests have MB's but no one has them decorated!

I saw on our last trip to WDW that the resorts were already selling those cute little bandits, which are the little guys you put in the holes of your MB...

And the sliders, that you slide over your MB...

And then the covers that completely cover your MB...

But I have only seen one TR where they have been used. So upon further research on the subject I have finally found some fun things out!!

First off, DO NOT USE BANDITS! I was just reading a TR and the poor girl hadn't even had hers a day and they had popped out and gotten lost! :worried:

I figured that could happen, they just pop in the hole and there is really nothing securing them in place really...

Covers and Sliders seem to do fine. But if you really want to get creative, painting your MB is where it's at!!! :artist:

I found (thanks to sweetpeaandevie) an awesome thread that tons of people have posted photo's of their MB creations!

Decorating your Magic Band Thread!!!!!!

The further into the thread you get, the better and better the creations get!! It is awesome! There are some truly outstanding ones!!

Here are some examples of painted MB's I found on google image search:

That last one is, of course, truly amazing! I would LOVE a proposal like that! :faint:

According to that thread I listed, most people are using nail polish and nail art tools to decorate. If you paint a clear coat (1-3) over the MB (just the hard part) apparently it holds up through an entire trip with no problems. People have been using super glue to adhere jewels, and I have heard reports that those stay as well. I have heard some using mod podge to put pictures and stickers on too, but results are so so on that one, some people have reported their stuff coming off that route. I have also recently seen some use acrylic paints with success as well, and they still put clear nail polish over to seal. I also saw one with pretty duct tape! No issues with the scanners in park have been reported thus far that I have seen!

SOOOOO, my question now is, what do you think? Would you go decorate your MB?? If so would you do the pre-bought stuff, or paint your own??

I think I am leaning towards painting my own now. Though I may just do something simple, like glitter-ing them up, or maybe do spots for a Minnie themed one? It's soooo hard to decide.

FYI- If you DO decide to paint your own, the people who have been using nail polish say that it comes off with nail polish remover, so if you don't like the way it turns out you just wipe clean and start again... so that does sound appealing, no???

::yes::

I am DEFINITELY decorating ours!!! It looks like so much fun :cool1: I haven't decided what to do yet though.....did you see that stained glass rose one on that thread....AMAZING!!!!

BTW, I forgot to say earlier.....I love Olivia's hairbows at Krispy Kreme...too cute!!!:goodvibes

WOW!!! that proposal one is amazing!!!

I don't think we'll decorate ours, but I do think it's a fun idea. can't wait to see what you come up with!

Yes! The rose and Avengers person was the best!! I'd pay her to do mine, lol!! I don't know if I want to try to get fancy like that or just go simple....

Thanks! I had those bows made and they turned out so cute for her party!

I love all the little things that Disney is selling for them... Such a bummer that they fall out so easily - I was planning to get ourselves some...

Here is my thought on it... I don't think I will paint them... I am just too much of a perfectionist and it would drive me CRAZY if there were any tiny mistakes at all... I could see it as a huge frustration on my part, and I just don't even think I will go there.

We will be ordering our MBs in a color that coordinates with our outfits - for the most part - I may look into making cover for ours... I know people have done that. Again - it would drive me crazy if it looked weird though... If that doesn't work, I will just buy a slider from WDW... Hopefully they have a Donald one....

D~

I have seen people who know how to sew make their own covers!! That'd be perfect for you, you could easily customize them by embroidering names and stuff! Wish I knew how to sew :(

Loved the pic's of Olivia's B-day. Ok no hate mail but I hate crispy cream ........I know people love them and rave about them. I worked at wenchel's when I was a teen ager and I think they should have Bavarian cream in the middle not frosting or what ever crispy cream uses.....yuck Ok rant over......
That MB thread is just amazing I would love to paint mine but don't think my talent is up to my imagination.........hmmm maybe Raina will paint them they are goingto her house anyways........yea think I will have to have my talented daughter paint them......LOL
OK we are going to MNSSHP on the 2nd so maybe we will all run into each other....really not stalking you so don't freak out......:rotfl2:

I love some of those painted ones! I think that would be so fun! I really wish Disney would add more colors for the magic bands. They at least need to add purple. Those of us with two girly girls in the family don't have enough options. Too bad their accessories are made better. We will leave ours plain. DH is extremely OCD and would drive me nuts worrying if the paint or glitter would stop them from working.

Happy Belated Birthday to Olivia. She is an absolute doll. What an awesome birthday party. Looks like Maddie was even getting in on the fun. Those goody bags you made up were so cute!

Those magic bands are awesome. I personally am not talented enough to be able to paint mine but I think they look cute all jazzed up. Not sure about the fabric covers because you really need to make sure the Mickey on the band is lined up with the Mickey on the touch point in the parks or they don't work. Even when you are REALLY trying to line it up it doesn't work perfectly. Not a really big problem but it is tricky to get your arm in the exact position to match up the Micky heads because it can be awkward. If you can't see the Mickey head it would make it even harder (IMHO). Highlighting the Mickey head in a contrasting color to the band might make it even easier to line up and the sliders look they would make that process easier too.

Can't wait to see what you come up with for your MBs, if you decide to do something.

Like you i am ALL OVER that thread!!! Some of them are OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!

Someone just posted about air brushing... I have a friend so is an AMAZING artist. if that works i may ask him to do ours... maybe... otherwise like you i am going to Sally's to get a nail art kit.. I don't think i will 'blig" it like some i don't know if i want to make it heavier then what they already are?!? :confused3

when will you get yours?!?

Yes! I hope we do run into each other! I am still debating on painting ours, they look so pretty all bright and plain, but I also like to have something a little different than everyone else, I think I am leaning towards a simple design! :artist:

I agree on purple!! I was going to pick pink for myself bc its my fave but I ended up going with red this time bc the rest of the fam has blue, green and yellow and I liked keeping them more like bright primary colors.

I was just saying I am thinking I will paint ours, but more of a simple design. I do like the way it looks when the mickey head is a contrasting color... sigh, who knows, I have months to decide!

Wow! Airbrushing! THAT would be AWESOME! :hyper:

My date to customize by was 195 days out in August, so I font think we will get ours until late august I bet. I heard its about a month out from travel when you receive them...

I agree with the bling, too much to rub on and such, I am thinking simple designs like dots, or just glittering them or something..

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHED!!! Olivia had the greatest time turning 5 and she has felt the love, for sure!! :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc

WE ARE BOOKED!

WHEW! I just HAD TO get that outta my system! The rest of the family is excited, of course, but NO ONE was as excited as me when I hit that confirmation button yesterday and booked and paid for our trip in full! I feel so much relief at having it done and sooooo soooo sooo much excitement at the fact that it is REALLY happening and I can REALLY start getting into the planning now!!! Yeeeeeeeeee! :hyper:

So, that's my biggest news today! That its officially official!

In other news, some fun little things happened the past few days or so since my last update...

First off we went to ANOTHER Disney store! This time we traveled a little ways to the Disney Outlet that is closest to us! This store is so much more fun than our local Disney Store because it has TONS of parks gear! We didn't end up getting too much, but I did grab a couple things for our trip...

Olivia got this cute Cinderella headband! It was on clearance for $6.99, not bad!

And I picked up this adorable Snow White outfit for Maddie! This is the one that I wanted for her last year, but we ended up with the Cinderella one instead because we'd found it on clearance. This was $13.25 I believe, because all baby gear was 30% off! She will wear this the day Liv goes to the BBB, since she's not old enough, but we still want her in on all the princess fun! I ALMOST got the Belle one, because I knew we would be eating with the Beast at BOG that night, but the hubs and I both agreed this one was just SO much cuter! I also almost got the shoes, but it is really hard to know what size she will be in then, and the shoes sizing was off as is.

Also in other news...

It's RODEO time in San Antonio, and we always participate in that fun round here, so yesterday I spent the day there with the girls. I got excited when I saw this!

I was HOPING that it would be similar to a Dole Whip and ease my craving a but, and it actually was quite good, though not really like a Dole Whip. It was more sweet than tart and you couldn't get it swirled with vanilla like I like. But still. A happy little find!

Here is a photo of the girls, in their Rodeo outfits...

And finally, I received some of my Halloween costume in the mail this week!!!

So this is what I have so far...

I got the purple tights, I figured those would be fun since Hallie the hippo is purple! And what I was so excited to find was that adorable apron on Amazon!! I thought it was similar to Hallies!

What I didn't realize when I ordered it was that it was actually a child's size! Ooops! But I think that is actually better, the length is perfect for the parks, I think it will be cool and easy to do rides and stuff with it smaller like that! I also ordered these adorable glasses which haven't made it to me yet...

I am thinking I will adhere some little flowers to the edges to be more like Hallie's!

I am also going to be wearing more of a fitted white tee, so it will look better, that one is just one of the hubs big ole' under shirts. I tried a purple shirt but it didn't look as good.

Lastly, I just need to make a cute headband with hippo ears and a nurses hat attached! So mine is almost done! Woot!

So that about covers all my little updates! I am just so happy to be booked. Our ADR date is not until April 4th, so I have some time to wait for that. I ordered our customized maps today! I also customized our MB's, which I mentioned earlier. Oh! And I did get some Disney Mail today! I had ordered the new Disney Cruise Line dvd! I am thinking of planning a cruise for 2015 since Maddie will be 3 and old enough to go to the kids clubs then. We shall see! All in all, a VERY good week!

YAY!!!! Aaaah, to be paid in full :thumbsup2.....I am still waiting for my tax money ;)

Love the rodeo outfits!! They are soooooo cute in their boots!!!

To be booked is the best feeling ever! I think booking the trip is almost as exciting as going! And already paid too, even better!
Love the costume so far! Cute! I think the apron looks great. I also really like the purple tights.

Your girls looked really cute in their rodeo outfits! Too bad it wasn't a Disney pineapple whip, but at least it was good.

I love the Snow white outfit! So cute. The Cinderella ears are pretty adorable too and a great deal.

Lots of great updates!

Thanks! Glad everyone thinks that apron looks okay. I never thought to do the purple tights until I just noticed them on sale, but I think it helps depict who I am better.
