Has anyone done the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour recently? I heard that Walt's apartment was being refurbished, so the Dream Suite was on the tour instead. Can anyone confirm this or share any other changes to the tour recently? What rides did you go on?

I phoned to book the tour Thursday night. I booked it for Oct 10th and the CM did state that if Walt's apartment was still being refurbished (which was very likely) we would be visiting the dream suite in its place. I would say it's probably safe to assume that it will be the dream suite the tour currently visits. As far as details about exact rides etc, I'd love to hear what others have done recently as well!

I don't think that they replaced that part of the tour with anything else. When Club 33 was being refurbished, the tour still went to Club 33 but only went to the door and the tour guide spoke about it. Maybe they will do the same for Walt's apartment.

HTH,

Edit: But ncarrier says you will see the Dream Suite, that's awesome!

I have spoken to numerous cms and they have all confirmed that the dream suite is being shown instead of Walt's apartment. The day I booked, the cm was saying that they had to reschedule ppl scheduled for one off the wiwf tours because someone was staying in the dream suite. I'm going oct. 7 and will be sure to report back.

Update: saw in another post I think in Halloween superthread #4 confirmation by someone who went on the tour that they did go in the dream suite :)

Does anyone know how long the refurb is going to be on Walt's Appartment because that's pretty much the only reason I'm thinking of doing the tour going in there.

My husband only wants to go on this tour for Walt's Apartment as well. I would hate to spend that much money for 5 of us to go and not see it.

A family member went on the tour Saturday and yes, they toured the dream suite instead of Walt's apartment. (It looked really neat btw!)

Does anyone have any updates on what's going on recently and if Walt's apartment is still being refurbished? We've done the tour a couple of times but that was a year and two years ago and we got the Lily Belle and Walt's apartment, plus a couple rides, that varies each trip. Our trips included Storybook and Peter Pan, another tour was Storybook and Tiki Room.

If Walt's apartment is still being refurbed in December, I'd love to do it again to see the dream suite (as well as add another amazing pin to our collection) :)

I did the tour on 10/31 (last week) and we saw the dream suite. It's really cool, but I was sad to miss Walt's apartment! When I booked it, they said Walt's Apt was back on the tour, so it was a shock the morning of the tour to be told it wasn't. We were offered our money back OR a tour of the dream suite.

We rode Peter Pan, the railroad briefly, and Great Moments with Lincoln.

Aw crappy. I totally forgot to ask if the apartment was back on for the November tours. Did they say why it wasn't on the tour when you had been told it would be?

I was told several different stories. The CM who checked me in said that "there were things going on backstage that made it impractical" and then our actual tour guide said it was being refurbished. They told another group that it was just "unavailable" and when they pressed for a more detailed answer, none was provided.

One group was NOT told at check in that the apartment was not going to be on the tour and the lady in that group FLIPPED OUT when it became clear on the tour that we were not going to the apartment. I would definitely ask when you check in.

The dream suite is very cool, but because it is larger and has a bunch of features, it adds quite a bit of time to the tour. Our 9:30 tour ended at about 2:30 that day - much later than I anticipated!

:( I wanna see Walt's apartment.

Does anyone know when Walt's Apt. will once again be part of the "Walk in Walt's DL Footsteps" tour?

I hope very soon as we would like to go on this tour the first week in December.

I'm planning to do the tour on 12/12, and I'm actually praying Walt's apartment is closed so I can see the Dream Suite. :hyper: :)
I'm feeling rather like Veruca Salt: "Daddy, I want to see an Oompa Loompa in the Dream Suite now!" :rotfl2:

Wondering if anyone has done this tour recently as in the last week or so and if they can tell me if the apartment is back on. I have it booked but seriously considering cancelling. I'm not interested in anything but the apartment and when I mailed Disney is this the generic response i got

Regrettably, we do not have any information as to when Walt's Apartment will be available as a part of the Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps
Guided Tour.

I hope someone can tell you what is happening now. I know two weeks ago it was still the Dream Suite and no Apartment.

I'm going to wait until tomorrow because I know someone doing the tour today so hopefully they'll be able to tell me and if the apartment is not on it i'm going to put my angry head on and ring them because they never once mentioned the apartment wouldn't be on it and that's the only reason I wanted to do the tour

Just to let anyone who may be thinking about doing the tour in the next while know. I rang them today after 5 days of no response from Guest Services. The girl I spoke to said they've had two dates so far when they thought the apartment would be back on the tour but it hasn't been ready so they can't say whether it will be available the day of my tour or not. When I pointed out the fact that it doesn't state anywhere on their website that it's not available and that customers should at least be informed of this fact BEFORE they book the tour she simply reemed off the non refundable crap to me. In Ireland false advertisement such as this is against consumer law. So if you don't particularly want to see the Dream Suite my advise would be don't book the tour until someone on here comes back saying they got back in to the apartment.

If there is anyone who doesn't know what the Dream Suite is, or why Disney considers it an acceptable alternative (or why I get hyper just at the mention of it :hyper: ) Check out this great blog, full of pictures of each of the room and videos of the magical things that happen when you flip the light switches: http://flowerstales.blogspot.com/2012/07/disneyland-dream-suite-exploring-rooms.html

Or, you can hop on You Tube and search "Disneyland Dream Suite." There are tons of great videos that will give you a glimpse of the magic that is inside that suite. :)
