Who has done Walk in Walt's Footsteps before?

I am thinking about doing but I am just wondering if it is really worth the $$? It's $109 but we should get a discount because we have a Disney Visa which would bring it down to $87.50 a person.

Will they be done working on Club 33 when we are there? I would like to see the inside and I know it's part of the tour but it's being updated. If we can't see Club 33 do they substitute something else for it?

I did this tour with my husband a couple of weeks ago. We did not enter Club 33 and there really wasn't a substitute that I could tell. It was not a big deal for us because we have eaten at Club 33 before. Our goal was Walt's Apartment and it was totally worth it to us to be able to visit such a neat place.

The tour was great, some things we already knew but we also learned new things. The lunch was also an added value, you get a drink, an entree, a side, and dessert. The lunch itself would easily be $20 if you purchased it on your own. So factor that in as well.

We had an awesome guide who you could tell really loved his job and admired Walt. That added to our enjoyment. He was a true Disney fan and that shined through his presentation. My only caveat is that the tour is pretty long and you need to be able to be on your feet for three hours walking at a moderate pace. Also, there was one child on our tour and he was a little bored halfway through. He was there for Walt's Apartment, though, and said it was worth it in the end. Our visit to the apartment was truly magical and awesome and I would have paid the fully tour amount just for the apartment visit.

I think this is easily the best tour we have taken and we have been on two others. Not that they weren't great, but the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour really was special. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Took the tour a few weeks ago... see my solo tour trip report in signature..

They didn't even go near C33, and I don't know if they'll take you into COA when the expansion opens up. I kind of doubt it. I've been to C33 (again, see May 2013 TR). There wasn't a substitution.. Seeing Walt's Apartment (especially 1:1 with a guide to yourself) was worth the cost by itself. I knew everything but one thing told to me in Walt's dressing area, so to a DIsneyophile, you'll know it all.

Perhaps once C33 is open for some time it will be part of the tour, seems a little more likely considering 1901 is going to be part of the new DCA tour.

Unless something has changed in the last 9 years, even when you do go into C33, it's just the lobby. You don't get to go upstairs at all... and only see the elevator.

It's still cool though...

Something has changed :goodvibes
A 6 month expansion and remodel is just about to be completed :thumbsup2

The original entrance will no longer be used (along with the lobby and elevator).
The new entrance is through the Court of Angels (no longer a public space), so it would be nice if this new entrance and lobby became part of the tour

I called and spoke with Guest Relations and Club 33 is no longer part of Walk In Walt's Footsteps :sad1:. I really wanted to see it too. I don't know if I'm going to do it now or not. Yes, I would love to see the apartment but, I was really looking forward to seeing Club 33 too.

I would do it JUST for the apartment. My speculation is it will become restricted in the not too distant future. While the lobby of C33 may have been sweet, if you've been to the COA before, you'll have already done it.

I've been to Disneyland a thousand times, and have never taken this tour. I'm going to finally do it on July 17. I've been in Walt's apartment before, and it will be nice to see it again. Haven't seen Club 33 before, and oddly enough, I've never been interested in it. So I guess I won't miss this part.

We are doing this tour next month and can not wait. While I would have loved to see Club 33 (even just the lobby and elevator) I am much more excited about the apartment!
I would love to eat at Club 33, but unless I meet one you members, I doubt it will ever happen :(

If the Court of Angels is still intact, I don't see why it has to continue to be cut off from all of the parks visitors, when the "club" reopens. I still have a major problem with no longer being able to access this awesome court.
I have not formally complained about it yet to the Disney Co. because quite frankly, I can't say the powers that be give a damn about my views! It seems to me that this company is becoming more and more elitist, and honestly, knotts berry farm and Universal Studios are looking better and better.

While I disagree with taking away a previously public space, they SERIOUSLY uppped the buy-in and annual member dues for C33. What was once a HOPE for me to be a C33 member (even if I only got to partake once or twice a year... I can't live in CA due to their restrictions on constitutional rights), it is NOW out of reach for me. I could have done it before because I keep vehicles a long time and live frugally... now its just OUTRAGEOUS. I mean $47k your first year and what, $12k/yr after that... that's a mortgage...Disney CAN'T jack up the price without additional benefit. Nobody would buy-in.

Please tell me more about this DCA tour. :)

When news came out that the Court of Angels was closing, I was really sad - because I had never been to DLR, and that area in the park was really high on my list of places in DL I wanted to be certain to see some day. I actually wrote to Disney to tell them as much. They replied with a boilerplate message, so I doubt if my expressing my opinion meant much. This was in the fall, long before I had any idea I would wind up going to DLR last month... and I will say, I really was bummed to not be able to see COA (although, of course, happy beyond belief to be at the resort - a dream come true).

The email I received from Disney is copied below:
