Is there restaurants in the parks that you can just walk in instead of making Reservations? I wanted to try boma and Les chefs de France?

Well we have been able to walk in to a few TS back in 2003 but Im not sure I would advise it just because your taking a big risk of not getting in. I would say it would also depend on what time of yr your going, summertime, Christmas time, halloween, thanksgiving forget it..lol If you dont want to make an ADR yet maybe you can make one when you arrive.

You are aware that Boma is not in the park, yes?

If you really have your heart set on dining somewhere, then book an ADR. If you don't mind being that there is no room for you, then you can try going without.

Les Chefs is quite popular, but I've had luck walking in (not during any peak season though).

Le Cellier is pretty tough to walk in anymore, but it does happen.

And so on. Sometimes it's simply luck of the draw.

Boma, at AKL-be safe and have an ADR. That restaurant is hugely popular and fills in fast.

Depending on the season you will want to make a reservation.

Boma, without a reservation you could wait an hour or be turned away all together. Very popular place to eat.

Chefs...with a reservation we have waited as long as 45 minutes to get in..just depends on the night. This is also a very popular place to eat.

The only restaurants I have consistantly been able to walk into in the past have been Garden Grille for a late lunch (past 1) or Coral Reef for an early dinner (no later than 4), during slower times of the year. With the dining plans being pushed as hard as they are now though, I wouldn't put money on it and I'd make ADR's most definitely for ANYWHERE I wanted to eat.

Last week, we had an ADR for lunch at Le Chefs, but they were taking walkups. So, if you want to go for lunch, you would probably be ok.

Also, last week, we saw walkups waiting an hour for lunch at Mama Melrose.

As for Boma, if you really don't want to make an ADR, your best bet would be late .. after 8:30 or 9 pm. You can get a beeper and have a drink in the lounge. But, frankly, I would make an ADR.

You may get into Marrakesh with out a ADR, also San Angel, maybe lunch at Alfredo's and Plaza.

I wouldn't count on the two you mentioned at all. Boma is very popular as is Chefs de France. There are VERY few restaurants now days that I "might" forgo ADR's. Maybe Olivia's, the TS restaurants at the mid priced resorts, maybe a couple more, but I always make ADR's usually, no matter what.

I made a reservation for Boma because I didnt want to take any chances!

Surprisingly, we were able to walk in at Le Cellier for lunch last August. We were there right when it opened, so maybe that boosted our chances of being able to be seated without an ADR.

You can also try to make a same-day ADR in the morning if you know where you'd like to dine that evening. People do cancel their dinner reservations, so there could be unexpected last minute openings.

We've had luck with calling and making a ressie after being turned down as a walk-up .

I was able to walk in to Les Chefs this past May. I could have my pick of times. It is always better to call WDW Dining and book an ADR that day, they do get priority over walk-ups. As the previous caller stated, I have called and made an ADR for as little time as a 1/2 from the call and gotten in while others have had to wait.
