Walk from Hotel to Parks?

Are the area hotels (not Davy Crockett) close enough to the parks that you can walk? Would you have to walk through parking lots and such, or is it a nice stroll?

We are currently considering Davy Crockett because we need the space, but would it be better to stay closer and walk back and forth?

Thanks
Andrea

if you're driving and the Davy Crockatt ranch suits your party, I'd do that.
Yes, all the onsite hotels except the DCR are walkable within 20 minutes from the parks, through The Village area and around the lake.

We have always enjoyed the walk from the hotel to the parks. It was nice to not to have to drive like we do at home. Having said that driving to the parks is relatively straight forward and we would stay at DCR if it was going to save us a lot of money.

You may also want to consider that unless you get the half board meal plan breakfast isn't included at DCR, but is included at the other hotels. :goodvibes

If travelling with 4 or less I would stay at hotels within walking distance. It's great being able to stroll along river or lake and through the Village. If staying with between 4 and 6 them DCR is probably best way to go. Any more than that and 2 rooms at SF or Cheyenne will probably be cheaper. :thumbsup2

I think it's a really nice walk through the Village and along the Rio Grande, we even used to do it staying offsite.
