Walk from Cabana Bay to Volcano Bay?

We're thinking of adding on a night to our upcoming trip, possibly staying at CB. We've previously only stayed at HRH and RPR, so we're unfamiliar with CB. The main reason to adding on a night will be to go to VB. Is it a short walk from CB to VB? Would it be similar to the walk from HRH to UO? Or from RPR to IOA? Shorter or longer?

Also, we would be staying at the RPR the night before, would they transfer our luggage to CB?

I've been trying to do some research on CB, but I'm not finding anything relating to VB except for some view categories of rooms. A good map would also help to familiarize me with the locations of the parks and hotels. Does anyone have a link for such map?

Thanks so much for this info, and anything else you can add about CB.

Map - not sure if my link will work, but I just googled Cabana Bay map and there's tons on Google Image search. The more updated maps have purple dots to indicate the path to take to Volcano Bay. When looking at the map, it goes along the whole left side of the resort. Looks like the end of the Americana building would be the closest wing to the Volcano Bay entrance.

I’ve read on some older threads luggage was transferred when they moved to one of the premier hotels

Leaving a premier hotel to the lower levels below premier, transfers of luggage was on the person making the move

Have not read any current threads to know what policy is now on luggage transfer between onsite hotels

Maybe call and ask the hotel so you can plan ahead

just walk past the pools and the lazy river to the back left of cb and there's a tunnel that goes to the rear entrance of volcano Bay

The blue dots show the route from the main lobby to the entrance to VB but as others have said there is also a path that goes between CB and VB that you can access from the Lazy River Courtyard...it goes between the Americana building and the Bayside building. So, the quickest route really depends on what building you are staying in.

When we stayed there two years ago, we were in the wing next to the blue dots in the above post, and it took us almost no time at all to get to VB.

(I don't know about luggage transfers, though, as we stayed there the whole time.)

We loved both CB and VB, and would definitely recommend the addition!

Less than 5 minutes and it's a completely flat, beautifully landscaped walk. My son and I feel that this is one of the biggest selling points of CB for us. (DH and DD disagree but she who gets tasked with making the reservations stays where she wants lol)

Thanks so much for all this information! It's been very helpful and probably what we will plan on doing.. Thanks again!
