Walk between Grand Floridian and Contemporary

We have a trip booked for September at VGF and more family members have decided to join us. We are trying to get them a hotel that is within walking distance to VGF. Would they be able to walk between the contemporary and The Grand Floridian after the Magic Kingdom closes or should we just be looking at the Polynesian or the Grand?

Because of the lake, there is not a simple walking option between GF and Contemporary. And as I say that, I will tell you that I have not yet seen the new walkway between GF and MK. I think that's open now. It's possible that a walk from GF to Cont via the front of the MK might work! But the simplest option with the closest proximity would be GF and Poly - unless they also stayed GF. Not sure if I've helped or not!

Yes for at least 1 hour after MK closes and gates are closed on the walk-way. It usually reopens at 6:30 AM.

They also have the option of the Monorail.

Even if that walkway is open, it is a very long way from the Floridian to the Contemporary. Better option would be to take the monorail.

We stayed at GF in February and it is only a 15 minute walk to MK. The walk from MK to CR is about 10 minutes.

Yes, there is a very simple way to get from VGF to CR. Walk from GFV to the main entry and keep walking past the Convention Center. The new walkway will take you to the sideway that used to be pavers (now concrete) to infront of MK and keep walking. You can actually walk from the TTC, through Poly, through GF, to MK and on to CR now. The question is how late may you use this in the evening. I would guess one hour after park closing but not for sure. Great for early morning walks to do this loop.. Takes about an hour at a quick pace.

Just a reminder for all there is very little shade along the new GF - MK - CR path and can be brutal for even professional athletes during the day in the summer months with the sun, heat, and humidity.

It can be quite nice early in the morning or after dark but please consider carefully all other alternatives.
